Wow, and that's his story and he's sticking to it!! Sounds like one of those "I got some ocean front property in Arizona" deals!! Talk about gullible people! Why is everyone still beating a dead horse that died 5 days ago? It's over, there were 0 Open Wheels at PGS and 25 at Auburndale, so what!! Everyone has their own opinion on why, what was said and between whom, who cares the race is OVER, let this discussion be too!!!! If the OW's don't want to race at PGS, so be it!! The way I see it, is that a certain few want to say what they do about Kevin Williams, if he was such the @$$ and hot head everyone says he is, why is it that we have never seen him on here defending himself or telling everyone where to go like any other opinionated person would be!!?? Personally, I know if I am backed into a corner or if someone talked to me in an ill manner first I am going to explode! If it wasn't for him we wouldn't even have a race track in Punta Gorda, sure doesn't sound like such a bad man to me! I didn't come on here to make anyone mad just stating my own opinion since everyone else has one, I think everyone should just get over a race that happened 5 days ago and let it be! Let's move on to this Saturday's racing!!!

i never ever called tony or anyone else hitler or any other name. in fact i NEVER once mentioned his name. a few people doubted one person could influence many. i simple gave examples of people who DID influence many! this is all getting old.

This is true but will the racer commit in writing to show up and buy tires and fuel ect,ect? Hell no they won't! This works both ways. So looking at both sides of the fence I don't blame a track owners for not posting payouts and sticking to it regardless of car count. This is just plain good business sense. Posting a payout is fine if the racer understands that the car count has to met in order to pay that said amount. The OWM racers complained and got their race they wanted at PGS and then didn't show. The racers and tracks have to work together or you will continue to have the issue at hand. If everyone just will do what they say they are going to do ( racers and track owners) then things just might start getting better. Until then this same ole dog fight will continue.

This is Rich Peters the President of the Rolling Thunder Modified Touring Series. I have a BS degree in accounting and a MS degree in Finance and have never been inside a race car of any type.

But, at my very first ever drivers meeting, 4 drivers approached the table I was standing behind, put their hands on the table and as a group said to me, "Do what you say you are going to do."

I have lived by those words since that day and am now in my 4th year without any racing back ground. Our OWM class really gets shafted sometimes and I still haven't figured out why.

I have an idea, but really can't be certain. I just enjoy being a part of it and all of the money we make is fully accounted for and used for the operations of the business and it is a LLC and I keep accurate records and everything is done in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code.

Very well put Tony If anyone takes all the posts on the two races at A/Dale and PGS for the OWM and does the math on the two races the better deal for the racer was at A/Dale and I am not a real fan of either track but right is right. Its a lesson learned by everyone in racing from owners to the racers and the great fans.

Put em on jack stands for all I care. There are a few that just want to race and there are others that just live to stir the pot. I say park em and if they want to race then race but other wise quit complaining. This kinda in fighting is destroying short track racing. There are plenty of other classes in Florida to fill a program. PG can do with out the OWM if they have to. I'm raced out because of this kinda drama...

First of all there is not enuff other classes to fill the program. The mods are bad ass and the class is big. Let me point out a few things to whomever you are. I got a call from P.G. and considered going because I like racing. But I decided to go to Auberndale because of what it was going to cost me......period. I happen to think P.G. is a awesome little race track and Ive made a few laps there but It would have cost me literally a thousand dollars to compete. You say park us.....I say B.S. No one called me and said dont go to P.G. I think that is a bunch of made up gossip. I spoke to a couple of the P.G. regulars ( parked next to me ) and they didnt want to have a 5 car race so from what I understand P.G. gave them there money back and they made one hell of a Haul to race where they had a field of cars to race against. No one wants to win a 5 car race and it was a 20 car minimum for the full purse. Here is another little fact that many of you may not be aware of......P.G. is the only track running goodyear grooved on the mods.....desoto,citrus,a-dale,bronson,and I belive fascar tracks are all running hoosier grooved. P.G. was gonna let us run the hoosiers for an additional 20 dollars a tire ?????I believe this was a big factor why us premadonna's didnt show in full force. There was also many mods that didnt race anywhere at all................D Miller

My name is Tony Carreno I own the #61 Mod, I am 50 Years old. Ive been a race fan since the age of 12. I bought my first race car when I was 45 years old, a mod. Ive been a part of the EBR Race for the last 3 years along with allot of other mod drivers. I was a part of the Jack Smith fund raiser when he was diagnosed with cancer. I also supported the Jack Smith memorial at PGS. Well now you know a little bit about me. I am your mystery man. This all started when I made a post on a different thread about the 100 lap race at PGS. I asked what the purse was and made a few suggestions about the race format. In return I received a phone call from Kevin Williams he left me a nice voice mail about my concerns. After speaking to me like I was a child, I tried to return the phone call. He would not accept my call. Let me explain something if I spoke to my customers the way he spoke to me I would not have been in business all these years,30 plus. If making a few suggestions made Mr. Williams feel like his back was against the wall then I suggest maybe he bring Greg back to be his P.R. man !! For people to think that I influenced 26 mod drivers to go to A-Dale is absurd. But HELL who knows it made my stock go up! The drivers that I spoke to didnt even race at A-Dale
I also see that there is allot of new people posting on this thread. Welcome to KARNAC. But dont be scared you can post under your real names, nobody will shoot you. See what this all boils down to is racers arent stupid, everyone can see the righting on the wall PGS got called out and they let there fans and drivers down. Mrs Wicks, youve been a friend of mine for 5 years I used to get so mad when people would talk down to you on this board. Id wanna jump threw this sceen and strangle them. But maybe you should practice what you preach, if you dont know what is going on sometimes is better to just be quiet. Well this pretty much sums it up, in no way was I ever track bashing, just a racer seeing what my best option was.
Well gotta go fast car is on the other line. They want me to look in the crystal ball and see what its looking like this weekend. LMAO

Nice post Tony, doesnt seem like Williams treats drivers any better then the rest of them. I do hear he doesn't like to return phone calls and BTW to the poster who said "If it wasn't for him we wouldn't even have a race track in Punta Gorda" you have got to be kidding, he isn't the first down there and damn sure won't be the last....as a matter of fact a little birdie told me....
