PGS Modifieds???

    I wish modifieds would go back to the way they were intended when they started. They had cheap claimer motors in them. Put 10 or 12 inch slicks on the modifieds now and call them super mods and bring back the cheap open wheel class back. Just my opinion

      There was a dispute between Kevin and a mod driver ... the mod driver talked all the mods into racing at adale!
      You are telling us that ONE modified driver had enough infuence to make ALL the drivers go to auburndale? You are dilirous lady! They chose to go where they KNEW they would get some of their hard earned money back.

      You keep harping on the $10 at the front gate but do you know what that means? You make it on the BACK gate! Thats right the drivers are paying to keep the track going. The charge at the back gate is still $30 the same as most all of the other tracks. On top of that they are the only asphalt track that runs goodyears so you HAVE to buy their tires + entry fees and the good old $10 slab fee, fuel etc. Tracks were always intended to make the money on the front gate and help the racers not the opposite.

      It may be a bargain to go in the front gate but it ends up being the racers putting the money out to put on the show!

        Sorry to burst your bubble Tonka

        But I read a message sent to a certain party by this individual and he said had called 14 drivers and coerced them to go to A' dale and they all did. I find it interesting that this individual was not on the results at a'dale. I know personally of the bad blood between the PG owner and this driver. I say let them race with John and Rex and get what they deserve. They'll both throw them under the bus in a heart beat. I know that from experience. I personally think PG's interests would be served to just not schedule them the rest of the year. 80% of them are in the area around A'dale and Citrus any way. Maybe they will realize that the driver thats upset is serving his own interest and not theirs.

          Sorry but I still find it hard to believe one person could influence that many people. So whats this persons name or shall he remain a mystery and just part of a rumor with a so called message.

            Tonka, I agree with you 100%.....!!!!!! Other track owners should learn from this....There needs to be a payout in writting all the time!!!!!!, for every class....20 plus cars, this is the pay.....15-19 cars, this is the pay. 10-14 cars this is the pay....ect. If people dont see it in writting, they are going to think the worst. Rex had all the cars because the racer knew if he finished second, he was going to recieve this much pay! Rex was going to pay 1000.00 to win if 2 cars showed up!!! That is why he is going to get all the cars. He can do it, because he promotes his race track, and the front gate is packed all the time.....The amount of cars in the pits should be the most important thing to a promoter, period, If the place is packed with cars, the fans will come, no cars, no fans...period. Racers are the show, treat them fair, and stop the smoke and mirror payoff games..........

              Nothing against this person and i surely am NOT comparing this person to anyone, but your comment is so wrong... throughout history many times one man influenced thousands, even millions, of people to follow them...some of them bad and some good. complete opposites come to mind... Jesus/Hitler.... Sharpe, Manson, Joan of Arc, The Pope.....

                No track can keep pounding the racers with expenses and keep them showing up. The cars are expensive enough, and then to make them buy $700 in tires, $50 in fuel, $100 for entry fee, slab fee (the biggest rip-off), probably $100-$150 for pit passes for driver and crew.... Youre near a Grand before you turn a wheel.

                And why is it fair that drivers get a reduced pay, yet you NEVER hear of the promoter refunding or discounting ANY of the fees they collected?
                I did not see where it said the racer had to buy 6 tires and fuel. I bet the top 5 cars bought tires over at A-dale though. If not the majority if the top 10 did. You won't run up front if you don't so that is a moved point. The tire and fuel expense is there regardless. So that really don't make good sense to spend that money and get less in return. Bottom line is they wanted a super late type race with super late pay got it and did not show. Why? That is the question. Expenses's are the same to run both races if you want to run up front.

                  Thats the point here. Those same drivers that went to A'dale ask PG for this race and he gave it to them with big money to win and even changed the rules to suit them and they didn't show. The tires and fuel are a given as you say but PG had tried to lessen the burden and they still stuck it to him. Thats why I'd say park them for the rest of the year. Who ever it was that wanted a name, I won't call names. I respect this driver but in this instance he is wrong. Pg pays good in all classes. I don't hear anyone complaining except this class.

                    fascar did there called e-mods 3200.00 for the motors and run on 93 octane pump gas and 8 in tires. at orlando they have more e-mods show up then regluar mods probly one of the best class right now.

                        comparing this mystry driver to Jesus and the Pope is insane, if you are not comparing, as you say in your post, why do you list the people you are not comparing the driver to???? I any business (owning a race track), if you do something good some one will tell ten people, if you do something bad someone will tell 1000 people. The reason only 4 cars showed is not because of one person, period.....That race was a joke from the very begining, it was domed....6 tires for 100 laps, then all the rule changes after they relized the racers were smart enough to see what was going on!!!!!!!! Da, lets put on a race where it cost the racer a 1000.00 buck each, and when we realize that they are smart enough to see what is going on, we will change all the rules. Sorry but it is just bad business period. If it read 2000 to win and showed the pay out through out the field, no tire purchase or fuel, they would of had 30 cars.....when all the track owners realize, that without racecars all they have is a oval of asphalt,.......

                          My name is Tony Carreno I own the #61 Mod, I am 50 Years old. Ive been a race fan since the age of 12. I bought my first race car when I was 45 years old, a mod. Ive been a part of the EBR Race for the last 3 years along with allot of other mod drivers. I was a part of the Jack Smith fund raiser when he was diagnosed with cancer. I also supported the Jack Smith memorial at PGS. Well now you know a little bit about me. I am your mystery man. This all started when I made a post on a different thread about the 100 lap race at PGS. I asked what the purse was and made a few suggestions about the race format. In return I received a phone call from Kevin Williams he left me a nice voice mail about my concerns. After speaking to me like I was a child, I tried to return the phone call. He would not accept my call. Let me explain something if I spoke to my customers the way he spoke to me I would not have been in business all these years,30 plus. If making a few suggestions made Mr. Williams feel like his back was against the wall then I suggest maybe he bring Greg back to be his P.R. man !! For people to think that I influenced 26 mod drivers to go to A-Dale is absurd. But HELL who knows it made my stock go up! The drivers that I spoke to didnt even race at A-Dale
                          I also see that there is allot of new people posting on this thread. Welcome to KARNAC. But dont be scared you can post under your real names, nobody will shoot you. See what this all boils down to is racers arent stupid, everyone can see the righting on the wall PGS got called out and they let there fans and drivers down. Mrs Wicks, youve been a friend of mine for 5 years I used to get so mad when people would talk down to you on this board. Id wanna jump threw this sceen and strangle them. But maybe you should practice what you preach, if you dont know what is going on sometimes is better to just be quiet. Well this pretty much sums it up, in no way was I ever track bashing, just a racer seeing what my best option was.
                          Well gotta go fast car is on the other line. They want me to look in the crystal ball and see what its looking like this weekend. LMAO

                                Wow, and that's his story and he's sticking to it!! Sounds like one of those "I got some ocean front property in Arizona" deals!! Talk about gullible people! Why is everyone still beating a dead horse that died 5 days ago? It's over, there were 0 Open Wheels at PGS and 25 at Auburndale, so what!! Everyone has their own opinion on why, what was said and between whom, who cares the race is OVER, let this discussion be too!!!! If the OW's don't want to race at PGS, so be it!! The way I see it, is that a certain few want to say what they do about Kevin Williams, if he was such the @$$ and hot head everyone says he is, why is it that we have never seen him on here defending himself or telling everyone where to go like any other opinionated person would be!!?? Personally, I know if I am backed into a corner or if someone talked to me in an ill manner first I am going to explode! If it wasn't for him we wouldn't even have a race track in Punta Gorda, sure doesn't sound like such a bad man to me! I didn't come on here to make anyone mad just stating my own opinion since everyone else has one, I think everyone should just get over a race that happened 5 days ago and let it be! Let's move on to this Saturday's racing!!!
