  • Wtf Osw?

    Interesting... (not really)

    From the FUPLMS website:
Another announcement from FUPS today is the cancellation of the May 4th race at Orlando SpeedWorld. "Track owner Robert Hart informed us today that they will not be hosting this event due to lack of fan participation and low car counts. FUPS will work to replace this event and hope to have a replacement race and date to announce soon. FUPS wishes FASCAR well moving forward".

If low car counts and lack of fan participation are grounds to cancel a race, Orlando might as well just shut down now. If I didn't know any better, I might think that Robert is trying to run his tracks into the ground. Oh wait, I don't know any better....

Imagine that..... low car and fan count at a show that nobody knew was happening. FUPS and OSW are both to blame for that result.

Frazzon is right but most of it falls on the track they must be happy with the way things are going or they would change something. Very sad

Frasson Is Wrong Nss Did Nothing To Promote The Fups Race
Gave Them A Date On Easter Weekend, Fups Didn't Stand A Chance Nss Did Nothing To Help Themselves They Had A Truck Race On The Same Night But Only 1 Showed Up? Rick Willams Called 30 Super Late Models Or More 20 Said The Were Coming Its Not Fups Fault People Say One Thing And Do Another, If Between Robert Hart And Terry Roberts Lack Of Effort To Promote Nss Or Osw They Should Close The Doors Because After Watching How Things Went Down At Nss It Was The Whole Thing That Was Sad

Is it entirely up to NSS to post something on a few message boards? You are defending the FUPS people, yet I saw NO efforts to get some people out there. You may have called 100 teams and have 60 show up, yet nobody would've been there to see it. Nobody KNEW about it.

I still see fault on both sides....

Apparently, it wasn't worth 2 minutes up FUPS time to post something on here? I guess not.

Not to mention the 10 cars You said were planning on coming that didn't? Is that also NSS fault?

Bottom line is, a crappy field showed up, and a lousy crowd to see it. If FUPS had brought 30 cars in front of no audience, THEN you can say it was a one-sided failure.... but that's not what happened, is it.

                FUP Series

The FUP Series has a web site where we post everything concerning the series, it is very informative. We also have a PR Person, you all know him, Rick Bristol. He does a great job of getting all releases/news out to many media outlets, they include KARNAC, Speed51.com, Florida Flagstand, ESPN Radio, Brighthouse, etc..
We have a race flyer for all our events posted at lease 2 weeks before the next race, we run 1/2 page adds in Late Model Digest. It is the responsobilty of the track to advertise with the local media & A-dale, Desoto & Citrus do a good job with this.
The series was was established by the owners of NSS, OSW, Lake City, A-dale, Citrus & Desoto to provide a in state traveling series for the racers that was competitive, had good car counts, paid a big points fund, etc.. For the most part this has happened except for the GOOD CAR COUNTS!
Last year the series had no competition as far as same night 100 laps shows, this year is different. There are so many 100 lap SLM races that it has put the racer in a very tuff position as far as selecting when & where they will race. Even with a 25K dollar point fund the FUP Series has struggled to gain members who would be eligibile to receive point fund monies are the seasons end.
We do work very hard to contact racers to invite them to come run with the series, and yes it is a letdown when they don't show up for whatever reason. Bottom line is if the tracks don't have cars & fans they will not survive!
Please pick a track and support it, not everyone likes this promoter or that promoter or this track or that track, but get up off the computer and GO TO THE RACES!

Well are we having fun yet??
                  car counts and fan counts?
Like playing poker.. The track has to play the cards they get or change the game.
I vote change the game . The problem is that none of you trust anyone to deal..
Find some one that no body know and he might have a chance dealing with you sharks..

Seems that was the plan all along, KILL the other series, which they accomplished now they let this series die they don't have to pay anyone. If this is the promoters series someone should promote and not lay the blame on everyone else.

Is there a plan to resolve these 2 issues? I'd love to see a good traveling series, something with plenty of cars, an interesting format, and a large and lively crowd.

If the car count doesn't improve, there IS no series. This is gonna take a lot of work on both sides of the fence to fix.

Any track around can pull at least a 10 car field all on their own... why would a Promoter pay for a series that doesn't bring anything more than they could bring on their own???
