      Questions.....

What are the plans for the races... what day's, hours etc.
Will you let the dragstrip stay?
      What about the motorcross?
I also saw some reference to Karting. How does that fall into the picture?

For any of you Sunshine Speedway fans that are on Facebook we have two groups set up: Sunshine Speedway Alumni is for all things pertaining to the old track. If you are looking for information on the reopening of the track go to News About Sunshine Speedway Reopening.

Whoever put this link in our group...thanks! I didn't know about this forum before. I used to be the head scorer at Sunshine for many years and can't tell you how much I miss those days. I live in NC now so it's hard to keep up with everything so keep me up to date!

        Thanks,
        Bonnie Walker McAlexander

I think something having to do with "Time Paradox Speedway" or "SunCoast Speedway" I can't wait for this to be opened up. Auburndale put out a terrible tire rule for the scrambler(4 cylinder) class and alot of drivers aren't going to race there. I know I'm not, and former Sunshine Speedway is closer to me, so that saves me money. Another thing I didn't like about what I saw there was they would have the thing go on for hours, and would have the big events at the beginning. The 100 lap events should be saved til the end. This way if people are interested in that they can stay and possibly (most likely) eat more. Along with people won't be kinda iffy about coming back. Put the shorter events at the beggining, 4-cylinder is usually the best too. That and V-8 class, because racing parts are cheaper. These are also usually the shortest classes, that will kind of give you a teaser for what's to come. I'm not so sure about the evening events because most race fans are NASCAR fans, and would like to watch the NASCAR race. Not everyone has TIVO. You may be able to have the evening races though, but I would make them around 7. This way you can maybe put the kids classes first and they can get home before their bed time. Evening times would run in the way with NASCAR and the Florida heat. I've lived in Florida my entire life and sitting in the stands when it's 100 degrees outside still gets to me.
No sponsors... Need some. Cheap prices!!! 901-451-2265

Hey Patti....Things are still quite fluid with the plans at the speedway, so we have decided to wait a couple of weeks. I will keep everyone updated on the date.

what kind of tires are you running

what brand tires are you planning on running and you should use tires that are a hard compound so they last along time so the lower budget teams can afford to race without having to buy tires all the time.
