            that is a cool photo--

Of Anderson Speedway/ Sun Valley Speedway--- a 1/4 mile asphalt oval built by Joe Helpling in July of 1948. This high-banked quarter miler has seen the best of the best of sprint car racers, non-winged, in an annual form, the night before the actual Indy 500.

              Thanks TINT4!

Sunshine Speedway – Early 60’s. Kevin Crooks won many races in his old #81 B-Sportsman car. Here he is taking a victory lap with flagman Jay Hulse hanging on.

              Another win for Kevin….

              ….and another

Sunshine Speedway – Early 60’s. A local Hot-Shoe that needs no introduction.

Wiley Will Cagle is shown here taking a victory lap in Jack Lamphier’s #11 1960 Ford Starliner Late Model.

This was one bad-azz, mo-fo ex-NASCAR Ford LM in its day.

For back-up of that statement just check out the row of checkered flags for the number of wins lined up on the top of the driver’s door.

Cagle’s #11 Ford LM is shown here on the bottom with Walt Craver in the #4 Chevy LM on the outside.

The identity of the driver in the Ford LM shown parked up against the fence pointed the wrong way is unknown.

Bob Grimes in the #3 Ford LM Convertible breaks a RF Spindle and takes Cagle into the wall with him.

Cagle’s #11 Ford Starliner on the hook here after the impact with Grimes into the outside wall.

No Lexan Windshields in these days!

First NASCAR Strictly Stock race at Langhorne, PA in 1949... Can you believe Len Brown racing at Langhorne, of all places, in a 1947 Ford convertible with the top down and no roll bar!!! NASCAR safety was a bit lax back then...

Before Jeremy Mayfield used meth before a race to get himself in the mood, Sarasota's Bill Buchman had his own way of getting ready to run the 1964 Daytona Continental...
