Nice pix from the outlaw. Valdosta I presume. While Harveys car always looked the same I remember Yankee Smith as being quite fast in a very good looking black sedan.I remember a late model showing up one night. The announcer said it was a new driver from Fla. and his name was Bill Wise. I told my wife BS it has to be a driver I know from Orlando. Upgraded my ticket to a pit pass and went in and wished Robby Ashton good luck. Seems he was having another one of his legal skirmishes.

Sunshine Speedway – Early 60’s. ‘Wild Bill’ Larimer in his Automotive Supply #29 Winged Modified Crosley leads ‘Wild Bill’ Hohman in his #25 Winged Modified off the corner.

The identity of the driver of the #6 Winged Modified Crosley on the outside of Larimer is unknown but it looks like he’s got a new trick going there on wing design.

I can’t knock it cuz it looks just like the paper airplanes I used to fold up as a kid in grade school and drive the teacher batty.

I can testify that they flew from the back of the class to the teacher’s desk up front with no problem, just not sure about the down-force quality.

Thanks to Marty Little for his help in identifying Wild Bill Hohman from Clermont in the #25 car.

According to Marty Hohman was a tough competitor in his day and later became a body man for Bobby Allison up in Alabama.

Sunshine Speedway – Early 60’s. ‘Wild Bill’ Larimer in his Big Block Ford powered Automotive Supply #29 Winged Modified Crosley looks to the inside of a unidentified competitor who is sideways off the corner.

Sunshine Speedway – Early 60’s. ‘Wild Bill’ Larimer takes a victory lap in his #29 Winged Modified Crosley with flagman Jay Hulse on the passenger side and the great Benny Moore on the driver's side. Another cool thing they used to do back in the day (flagman ride-along on the victory lap) now lost in this litigious society that we live in.
