I wasnt getting defensive, merely pointing out a different point of view. Somebody has to take all the notes, verify the results, write the race story, submit it to whatever source they are working with... This all takes time, effort, and honestly takes away alot of the actual enjoyment you can get from actually just observing. If the people who DO put in that kind of effort also have to pay for all that too, you wouldn't be reading very many race results and stories. It's a trade off that tracks would be foolish not to accept that needed publicity.

As for your 7 year old, I understand how young ones can be... fidgety, cranky,etc.... But I hope you understand that it is your choice how to handle it. It's not the tracks issue for them to solve, it's yours.

Again, not arguing, just pointing out that you DO have a choice.

Under stand your point, but under stand mine I would bet that their is not a weeking write up in the Orlando, Daytona,Tampa papers... that I get but the rest need to pay something and must of them would be at a race track anyway. Just my thought. I have made my choice on my kid we keep the 50 bucks in my pocket my choice but if the track lowed the price the would make more and isn't that what all of this is about, every body give alittle.

And I didn't say you talked about lots of people getting in for free. Just that it was talked about by another poster. If you miss understood my post I'm sorry Don.

Rick, apology gladly accepted. it takes a man to apologize, (wether I spelled it right or wrong) Its none of my business anyhow I guess who gets in free. I did sponsor a race once at NSS, or the track called it a sponsorship, I didn't really, it wasn't that much money. I even told them it was ok if they kept it annoymous, (i KNOW I misspelled that and I don't care!!), but they made a big deal out of it, which I did appreciate, and yes I think I got in free. But what I might be willing to do is pay the way in for some guys kid, that could be my way of contributing to the sport. ESPECIALLY if he wore one of my shirts!! LOL Thank you Rick!

So are you saying he should go to the stands or if he doesn't like it stay home? Tell me, does that 7 yr. old boy cost the track more in the pits than in the stands? I don't understand, free in the stands, why not in the pits? Now Rob AND the boy will stay home, so how can we expect the boy to get interested in racing? We all agree we need more young people interested in racing.

Tuna.... You sure got a way of twisting words around. Look again at my words. Never once did I come close to what you are accusing. If you can't see that I was only pointing out that he HAS A CHOICE, you're just plain blind.... And at this point, frankly not worth defending myself to you.

Get over yourself dude. Better to be thought a fool, than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.

I have an idea.. If the car count is low enough to lower the purse for that class, why not let the winner get in free the next weekend, or maybe the top 2 cars? When they come the next weekend, they will pay for racing fuel and food..

              Just a thought...

nd you, my friend, need to learn how to comprehend what someone asks. YOU said,"you have a choice" I asked what is that choice. I ASKED, read it again, I ASKED did you mean go home OR stay in the stands??? It was a question, that sir is differant than"twisting things around". I ALSO offered to pay the kids way in which I believe is more constructive than YOU jumping on the chance to bash me!........Oh, i'm not your dude!!!
Oh, Rick has asked to stop the name calling on here, why can't you understand that? This is KARNAC!!!! Its not appreciated on here.

I have no pony in this race but the pit charge is the insurance I am sure. Pit insurance is one of a promotors top expenses I'd say after electric. Bob...

Just a side note, I went to a track a few years ago and had a board break in the stands and I fell causing some injury. Wasn't a lot but I did have to go to the docter a couple times and I was told in private that they didn't have any insurance. I guess I could have raised a stink but I was working so I just payed my doctor and went on. That same year I was coming down the stands at another track to get a post race interview and another board broke.I didn't fall this time but a fan was almost dumped on his butt. I was able to grab his arm as he started down. It made me walk gingerly in the stands at all tracks. bob...

I know what you mean. Just a question, don't want to be accused of "twisting words" ( I don't think you would do that video) I was under the impression when you sign in the pits you are basically saying if 10 cars run over you the track isn't responsible? Maybe I'm wrong. Don't get me wrong in all this, I simply think if ANYONE gets in the stands free they should get in the pit free. Guess I'm in a minority so probably I'm wrong.

                          Don

The admission in the pits does require you to sign a hold harmless agreement but that is just an agreement that they won't sue understanding that if they have an injury in the pits they will be covered by insurance. I have only been injuried once in my life on a race track and had to be transported. as it happened it only rang my bell but the trip to er was paid for. I am sure most tracks have a large insurance bill. When you comin to PG as my guest? Bob..
