My point was, don't just dive into the pool until all the research has been done. In the Forklift industry, Allis-Chalmers went out completely, Hyster and Yale both sold out to Japanese outfits, Clark has bounced from one investor to another with nothing but downhill results, and Baker isnow part of Linde (Germany). Caterpiller has NEVER built their own units, just private labeling of someone elses product.
On the flip side, the number 1 rated units are Toyotas (built in Indiana), while Komatsu (Georgia), Mitsubishi/Caterpillar (Houston), Nissan (unsure where the mfg. plant is), and TCM have all built plants in the USA. They put quite a few Americans to work. The "American" manufacturers have all gone away.
I'd rather we, as Americans, get at least some of the pie, instead of no pies at all....
Dang i hate it when you tell it right!! Toyota is as much built in america as a dodge truck!
china japan mixican germnan ugoslovian parts. im sure that there is more.

I enjoy the opportunity to buy/sell the best products on the planet...I, as have many, as has been proven by the numbers...love the freedom of choice, with our brains and pocketbooks.
That old made in the USA argument died a long time ago...
I personally don't give a crap what the "ghost" of what that "money hungry" Earnhart thinks.

Will you please give it a break ? You come on here and complain about the treatment you receive and then post garbage to upset people.Originally posted by legendofauto View PostI enjoy the opportunity to buy/sell the best products on the planet...I, as have many, as has been proven by the numbers...love the freedom of choice, with our brains and pocketbooks.

I was in this conversation when it started. Look sir. The owner of this website is sick and in pain. His friends and those that appreciate his work are showing some compassion. Please try and be considerate.Originally posted by legendofauto View PostGee, it's a shame you disagree with my opinion...
so stay out???
Why not you out? You weren't in this conversation...

Yeah, like you really care and are sympathetic, you only to not get thrown off the board ... maybe just pathetic...
I could say the sky is blue and you would pee on it...you prove that.
If someone disagrees with your thought process, are you really that insecure that you can't even consider another opinion without ridiculing it? Soap checker, I feel for the people that you are around...not you though.

WRONG on all accounts. You sir are nothing more than a troll. I'm sure NOBODY on here appreciates your presence. Keep spouting your cheapshots. It shows your inner self and the lack of compassion. You are a disgrace to the racing community.Originally posted by legendofauto View PostYeah, like you really care and are sympathetic, you only to not get thrown off the board ... maybe just pathetic...

I know I don't have the answer to everything and its very complicated, so far the solution hasn't been posted on here either. Its all been tried before. But I think the first thing we need is people in power that care for and love america. I'm not sure we have many right now. Hey, how about we go ahead and spent another 6 billion dollars bailing someone else out? Since the last round of "bailouts" the unemployment has jumped even more, the National Debt is growing faster than anytime in history, and we can't even pay the interest now. Scarry.Originally posted by Frasson118 View Post"There needs to be a tarriff put on everything imported into this country to make the price the same as American made
This WAS done in the Forklift industry. The foreign makes were kicking ass on the pricing (and quality) end of the business. The American manufacturers got the government to impose tariffs on the imports.
Soooo, what did the foreign companies do??? They built plants in the US, using American labor, and several US-supplied parts, but NO Labor Unions. This avoided the "import" tariffs.
The result??? The American companies either folded, or took their plants overseas. They cut their own throats on the deal. Now, the Japanese and Korean companies are dominating that industry, just like they do in the Automotive industry.
Be careful what you wish for... you might just get it...!
