Originally posted by Winger View PostJohn, I have to respectfully disagree with you. I know there is an issue with Karnac.com and results being posted on the message boards. It shouldn't be that way. I can't think of a better place to post them so fans can talk about the race and results in the same thread. If you just read the race report that is put out by the tracks, you are only getting a homogenized version of the event. If you encourage message board discussion, you will get much more and some it may even be accurate. LOL By posting about an upcoming event, fans can discuss who's going, where and when to meet, etc. I do agree that press releases should not be posted on the message board. However, individuals posting results and upcoming events should be encouraged and not discouraged, IMO. Doing that has already cost one great poster and is very possibly the reason you don't get results from NSS. All this is just my opinion.
Here is where I disagree. There has to be some protocol and consistency on Karnac.com. We are trying to educate everyone on this. Race results, pre-race information and press releases from Florida tracks and series should all appear in one section so that race fans know precisely where to go to consistently find such information. The section which was precisely set up by Jack Smith for this is the Florida Stock Car Racing section on the first Karnac.com page.
I agree with you 100% that it is healthy for fans to be able to make comments about racing they've seen at their favorite track. I'm not for censoring this type of activity. What I am saying is let the tracks get the press releases out and and I'll post them all in one common location set up for just that purpose: Florida Stock Car Racing. The fans read them all at that one location. Let the fans go to the Real Racin Forums to start their own threads with what they want to say. That is just the reason that Jack established the Real Racin' Forum.
I feel it is necessary to respect the way Jack set up Karnac.com. It was done for a reason. I feel the reason was to establish order, simplicity and consistency.Last edited by John Berti; 07-19-2011, 10:13 PM.

Webpages are alot of work for the administrators and they do have a much nicer appearance over the forums. I think you will find that the forums are a better way to reach the most people simply because the majority of people frequent the forums more than the webpages. Just my 2 cents.

As I said, you are probably not looking at the right segment of Karnac.com to find race results. The proper place for all fans to be looking is under Florida Stock Car Racing on the initial Karnac.com page: the page you get led to when you type www.karnac.com. You will see it on the right hand side. When Jack set up Karnac.com this is what he reserved for Florida race track results and other such press releases.
If you get in the habit of checking on Sundays, Mondays and perhaps as late as Tuesday under Florida Stock Car Racing you will see the results of just about any Florida track that ran over the weekend. The only ones you won't see are the tracks that don't send me anything and don't put any information on their websites. If you check over the remainder of the week you will see postings I get from tracks about what their show will be for the upcoming weekend.
Please remember that as new posts are added older posts drop down the line. If you want to see the posts that have dropped off click race results from the Florida Stock Car Racing page and look through them until you find the track results you desire.
If you click on the heading Florida Stock Car Racing it will bring you directly to Front Page stories which is where I post press releases that contain a written account of the racing action and photos. It's kind of a reward for those tracks that put that extra effort into putting out good information for the fans of Karnac.com.
I hope this clears up any confusion.Last edited by John Berti; 07-20-2011, 11:31 AM.
