It's kinda funny...the gentleman's original post announcing another site was fine...I looked at it and left it alone...no problem...he wasn't intrusive.

then all of the preaching and ministering started...most people aren't really interested in your religious beliefs.

That's the kind of stuff that turns many people off towards organized religion...when it's forced on you.

    This thread was ruined.

"regardless of whether we agree or not about Christianity... i have always had a huge respect for guys like you who devote their time and lives to help others! you are a fireman and it is a brave and honorable thing you do everyday. and you certainly have the right to believe or not to believe... we didnt get on the board and attack you... we were told to stop... ;-)
i am greatful for what you do and if i ever need a gentle hand to help me thru a crisis i will not be afraid to put my life in your hands because i know GOD will be there guiding you and i know you will be devoted to what you do...;-)

What I do for a living has no relevance whatsoever to what is being discussed here. I'm not asking for your respect and I certainly don't do what I do out of my religious beliefs or lack thereof. That's not for you or anybody else to know anyways. Unless I want you to know and then I will tell you face to face. Not on an Internet message board about the SPORT OF AUTO RACING.

I applaud StgBean. He posted a link to a place where people who want to discuss both subjects could go and enjoy themselves. And left it at that. Unobtrusive and non-judging. I can appreciate that. Thanks Bean, if I want to do both I will check out the link.

Posters like you, Carol, never seem to grasp the real issue and when you can't understand or explain yourself in relevant terms you just start banging on the same old drum again and again. Here is my position in a nutshell so read it very slowly.

MYSELF AND SOME OTHERS COME HERE TO TALK RACING. NOT TO ARGUE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND WHO IS GOING TO HELL OR NOT. NO ONE IS SAYING YOU CAN'T LOVE JESUS ALL YOU WANT. ALL I HAVE EVER PROFESSED IS MY BELIEF THAT RACING, POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS DISCUSSIONS SHOULD BE KEPT SEPERATE.

For some reason you keep taking this as a personal attack and then the madness seems to start. Why does this happen?

BECAUSE PEOPLE DON"T WANT TO ARGUE RELIGION ON A RACING BOARD!!!!!

There is a time and place for everything AND everyone in the world. I've found mine. Where is yours?

And where has anyone been preaching?

To the miscreant who said "what if it was a Muslim racing board?" - One thing's for sure - there wouldn't be this much hate against it!

The ACLU would be all over that one - defending their right to a board.

Funny - I don't see them here defending the Christians

Frass once again you apparently can not read or choose not to understand it.

I said I was no better than anyone else, I said that go back and read it. I also told you that was not my opinion it is what the bible says, the bible is the word of God and is the truth. You can choose to be or believe what ever you want that is your choice but I simply explained again what the bible says, I only tell what the bible says, not my opinion. You do not have to believe it now, a year from now 20 years from now or when ever, but one day you will as God says. Jerry you do not have to like me, that is fine. I have no issues with you I simply replied to a post. A post that if you do not want to hear it, then you do not need to go to it. I also simply offered to help anyone who would like to know more if they choose. I try to help others because that is what God has called me to do. Wether you like me or respect does not matter, if I can ever help you I would be there. I hope one day you can understand that and that I do not think I am any better than anyone else, but I do know where I am going when I die, and I do know what God says is the other place of eternity, but it all up to each individual what they choose to believe. And to clear this up you will not go to hell because I said so or because your are lower than someone else. You will go only if chose to reject God. Again all of this is from God word. The bible. Thanks

            I agree to a point.

The problem I see is that too many Christian people fail to "skip over" the beliefs and thoughts of others who don't necessarily believe what they do.

This problem is not only evident in forums, but real life.

A friend of mine wanted to open a tattoo establishment and found that he would have to buy property so far from churches, parks and any government owned land. Yet, no church has to have approval from me on how close they can build to my land. This is a real problem in my eyes.

When Christians quit feeling the need to run everyone elses life, let me know. Until then we will have people like Huckabee running for public offices and feeling like they have the right to impose their beliefs on me, and that is not happening.

Look around Tenney, Christians supposedly make up over 70% of the population.

If Christians were true to their beliefs Wal-mart would not open on sundays, they would have no need. No restaurant would open on a sunday, because there would be no clientele. Take a look next sunday when you leave church. Watch how many leave sermon and head to the nearest restaurant and expect to be served.

                >30% of the population does not justify walmart opening on sunday
                >30% of the population does not keep the proliferation of bars in business.
                >30% of the population does not support the pornographic industry

Some of you so called christians should go back and read some of your posts. You all say the same thing that we all sin every day including yourselves and that apparently justifies your decisions to start judging others and putting them down. Some of you peckerheads can't take it if someone doesn't see things the same as you and start making comments like you can't read or you don't have enough sense to comprehend what you are saying. The majority of so called christians I have dealt with are the biggest hypocrites I have ever met.I don't care about your beliefs and I hope you don't care about mine.Yeah I know I'm going to hell but I'm not going to be a hypocrite about it and use god's name as an excuse to say things about people who don't agree with me.Yeah I know I could avoid this thread but last time I checked it was a free country thanks to the men and women who serve and have served our country and I hope someone looks after them no matter whose god it is.

I haven't got all worked up in this thread, just asked some questions because I do think there is a double standard working here, poked some fun, but now you've got my attention.

MISCREANT? Are you kidding me or do you just not know the meaning of the word?

Allow me to define the word for you:
                    1. depraved, villainous, or base.
                    2. Archaic. holding a false or unorthodox religious belief; heretical.
                    3. a vicious or depraved person; villain.
                    4. Archaic. a heretic or infidel.

So which one am I Mr. Hatemonger?

Hmmm, I've been staying out of this but I just have to comment. So many people claim to read God's word, the Bible, and follow it. A couple questions, who wrote the Bible? It wasn't God or even his so called son. Answer, It was a bunch of common people that wrote stories and then King Constantine decided to put these stories together in one book. Some of these stories were supposedly written by his disciples but they were not put onto "paper" until hundreds of years later. Where in the Bible does it say you should you should go to church on Sunday? It actually say's that God rested on the 7th day. That is Saturday, but Jews and a few minor Christian religions actually celebrate on Saturday. So why do so many Christians only believe what others tell them to?

Four Worms and a lesson to be learned

A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon. Four worms were placed into four separate jars. The first worm was put into a container of alcohol. The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke. The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup. The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil. At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol - Dead.

The second worm in cigarette smoke - Dead

Third worm in chocolate syrup - Dead

Fourth worm in good clean soil - Alive.

So the Minister asked the congregation - What did you learn from this demonstration? Maxine was sitting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said, "As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won't have worms!"

That pretty much ended the service --

I suggest we do the same as the service and end this thread.
