  • Christian Racing Forum

I know this is a touchy subject but just in case you're interested in talking racing with a Christlike attitude, here's a web-site:

I know that Christ was mentioned A LOT in the post race discussions at the little 500!

Seriously, I'm glad to see a Christian forum. Many of my church buddies come out to see me race, and of course all of you are welcome to talk faith with me any time.

Good point. I'm not a very religious person and I don't understand this seperatism that many religious people seem to want. Why can't we all be who and what were are and do it together? I really hate to say this, but to me it sounds like elitisim. We're "good" and "righteous" people so we'll go over here and seperate ourselves from all of the riff raff over there. Sorry, but no matter what your religion might be it doesn't make you any better than anyone else.

          Good point BJ.

I stopped segregating myself for the same reason. Just because I'm a Christian doesn't make me any better than anyone else. Everyone sins, every day.

Now if you wanted to make a FAMILY STYLE forum that adhered to Christian values (in other words no vulgar language, no porn, nothing that couldn't be rated "G") then I'd be all over that.

            My thoughts on this !

First the comment was " we are no better than anyone else". This is correct. We are all sinners and all come short of the glory of God. We all have sinful flesh that causes us problems every day. And we all have the influence of the devil. Now the bible does make it clear that we should be seperate, now this I feel means to not liv ein the sin. Do not hang out with those that do the things they shouldn't avoid them. We are also instructed to be the light of the earth. meaning we have to have contact with others to show them the love of Christ and to tell them the gospel of hope. We that have repented of our sins and accepted Christ as our personal savoir we are merely sinners saved by grace. But we must also remember that when we are saved "behold all things become new" we should not want to take part in those old things we did. We should strive eveyr day to be like Christ, sinless although we can never attain that here one day in heaven we will. It is nice to get together with fellow Christians and to have some time without cursing, dirty jokes, hateful talk etc. But we still must mingle to try to be the light that God has called us to be. But make no mistake the word of God says that one day every knee and bow and every tongue shall confess the Jesus Christ is Lord. And those of us that are saved will reign with him in heaven and we will be living in the mansions he has promised us. So the fact is people can be what they want to be, who they are but there will be a judgement day for everyone before God and then your direction will in one of two places heaven or hell. This is not my opinion but what the living word of God says. Now, that I have said that. I am the young adults Pastor at my church and I want you to know if you ever have a need or a question about God, salvation etc. please call me and I will be happy to show you what the Bible says and try to encourage you.

                My 2 cents

I gotta add my 2 cents here of course. We all have sined and fall short of the glory of God. "Romans 3:23". So what did that say? its says that, Only by the grace of God there go I. So even tho I choose to follow christ, I am just as prone to sin as any one. The difference is that I have a help mate to assist me in my life, but I still fail at times. The difference is I am forgiven.
Christ died on the cross to forgive us of ALL our sins. Not just mine, ALL. I don't want to be segregated from non-believers, if I was not around them there would be no chance of leading them to christ, and thats what Christ calls me to do. Thanks for the forum. Bob..........

                  Great.
Another religious debate on a racing board.

If only the Pope, Hillary Clinton and Geraldo Rivera would start racing we could never run out of things to argue about. Like we actually need any more reasons to argue.
(I heard the Pope has an inside line on some aftermarket seals for the Ford crate motor)

More stress. Just what the doctor ordered.

                  Cool.

                    Dare I agree with glxxx?

I just wonder if I started a thread with the title "Muslim Racing Forum" if it would be met with as much enthusiasm.

I guess it's things like "anyone who does NOT believe can skip over our Christian views.... " make me really wonder about the logic some people have. Does this mean I can start posting, "Wayne Anderson is the best driver in Florida, I don't care what you say and if you do NOT believe this you can skip over my Wayne Anderson views..."

Does this mean Wayne Anderson is god....

Perhaps if your soul was saved you would have found that full field rundown by now.

                          - Come to me Rick, yield to the salvation and the full field results shall be revealed to you!

Remember when Jeff Gordon was young. After each win during his interviews, he would thank God for the victory and a safe race. I haven't noticed him doing that for awhile...

After yesterdays crash at Vegas, he should have been thanking God in his interview!!!
