Rick.... preach to people that WANT to hear it. I get tired of you, and others like you, who feel they are above the rest of us. "So the fact is people can be what they want to be, who they are but there will be a judgement day for everyone before God and then your direction will in one of two places heaven or hell".

So, in other words, you ARE better than the rest of us? I'm glad you and the others have found a path that led them into being a better person, but if I don't ever choose to follow the same path, I'm STILL just as good as you.

Plus, if I do wind up in Hell, at least I'll have all kinds of good friends there!

Leave the sermons for Sundays, and the people that WANT to be saved.

YOU Knew it was "Religious" conversation!

so why did you read it? AUTO RACING is one of the few sports in the world that say a prayer before the race! so i feel it is part of our sport.. watch the fans as the prayers are said...most have their heads bowed in reverence!
as far as being better than anyone. NO WAY! but i do believe that Christians can help those who are lost in life. i know many many times i have comforted friends and given them hope by "introducing" them to God.
OJ and anyone else who are not believers....you have that right...BUT! so do we!
we can write whatever we want on this board and you might just as well get used to it. i personally would rather you be upset with me, then GOD!
        have a nice day!

It is interesting that brainwashing works the same, find someone who is hurting or otherwise vulnerable and get them to think the same things you do. Victimization is another word. When do you mention the part about donating and other forms of payment to support the beaurocracy and legal fees to help protect the leaders that have harmed innocent children?

Carol, thanks for the quote about being able to say whatever you want and that we should get used to it...that will come in handy me thinks.

            Ms. Wicks,

People(you) DO NOT have the right to put whatever they(YOU) want to on these boards...the moderators will see to that...

These were race talk forums I thought...(with some occasional racing debate and humor!)

Maybe you should stick to the Christian boards to do your ministering...

Thanks for "officially" giving me the same freedom of speech that Christians apprently have. If you have the right to say what you like, then we have the right to our opinions as well!

If I remember right the header on this thread says "Christian Forum". Now what doesn't makes sense to me is that if God offends you why would click on this thread? But that said, you have that right, but don't complain when you find something about religion. DUH! It ain't rocket science.

Matt I know you weren't directing your comment at me. I still love ya man! Bob.......

And the hypocrites shall inherit the earth.....

You have no idea what I do or don't believe in.

Thanks for pre-judging me, though, I mean, before the big guy gets a chance to do it. I guess all those nights at the crisis center donating my time didn't help any of those "lost" folks out at all. The fact that I didn't lead them to that point in their lives probably doesn't matter either but then the center never checked to see that I was a card carrying christain either.

Didn't realize there was a specific pose to strike when praying at sporting events. either. I guess with that many people you need some type of pecking order for which prayers you answer first. But you'd think that an omnipotent, all powerful being could look beyond the fake posturing and "after the fact" praise and thanks to see what a person really felt and believed. Should even be able to see past a guy who just beat 43 other drivers only to then announce that God was smiling on his team that day. As if he were just pi--ing on all the rest.

It gets pretty amusing sometimes, what people will say when the cameras are pointed at them.

I don't want to influence anyone or change how they percieve their religious beliefs. I don't care what you or any one else needs to believe to help them navigate their lives. If and when I do, I will seek out a message board that allows me to share those views with like minded folks.

Kinda like why I found this board. To talk racing with people who live and breathe racing.

And that's my point of view so YOU just get used to THAT.

                  Have a nicer day

                  OJ

                    i dont get it...

Christianity is "HOPE, it is "LOVE"...it is something to hold on to for strength when all else fails, it is forgiveness when we get in trouble. How on earth can this be a bad thing? how can it be offensive?
no matter how many times you are reminded that you dont have to read the posts, you continue to do so in an effort to discourage us. you cannot discourage us!
we can go round and round until eternity and some will believe and some wont. i respect your right not to so why do you get so angry if i choose to?
when i said i could say what i wanted i should have elaborated... i am allowed to profess my love of God and NOTHING except Jacks windex bottle will stop me. that is all i meant.
i dont think we overburden this board with our beliefs. we use our faith to comfort our racing family... how can that possibly be wrong?
i personally will NEVER go to a separate part of the internet to HIDE from athiests! i dont have to and i will never ... never once have i seen anyone attack a poster for being a non believer. but you continue to attack CHRISTIANS... i am not your judge... nor are you mine. i am also trying to be as polite and understanding as i can be.

                      OJ

regardless of whether we agree or not about Christianity... i have always had a huge respect for guys like you who devote their time and lives to help others! you are a fireman and it is a brave and honorable thing you do everyday. and you certainly have the right to believe or not to believe... we didnt get on the board and attack you... we were told to stop... ;-)
i am greatful for what you do and if i ever need a gentle hand to help me thru a crisis i will not be afraid to put my life in your hands because i know GOD will be there guiding you and i know you will be devoted to what you do...;-)

It could have meant a racing forum dedicated to TNA Superstar Christian Cage:

Though I much preferred his work in the WWE with Edge:

Just so we are straight about this, I have NO problem with people having the faith of their choice, and I'm actually glad that they are proud of it.

However, when us "non-believers" have fire and brimstone threats thrown at us, that is over the line. Not believing the same as others makes me no LESS of a person that the card carrying members of organized religion. If you want to BELIEVE that I'm "going to Hell" unless I turn myself over to Christ, that is fully your right. But to TELL me I'm not as good as you (Rick B.), I take personal offense to that. You can take that opinion and shove it. I'm as good a person as any Christian, Muslim, Bhuddist, Pope, Hare Krishna, Rabbi, Preacher or any other kind of "spiritual advisor".

I believe that all people are created equal. It makes no difference your color, sex, accent, or relieous belief to make you a good person. Being a bad person is what can rank someone lower than me. Thieves, murderers, rapists, child molesters.... they come in ALL fashions (even Christians), and THAT'S what can rank people lower than the rest.... not the fact that I don't believe your fantasy about eternal damnation if I don't wake up someday needing the comfort of your soul-saving techniques. I'll decide all of that for MYSELF. I don't need you to point out how much lower of a life form we un-born-again Christians are.

Believe anything you wish. I have NO problem accepting that. But, if you think it's okay to berate the non-believers, your quickly on the path of being lower than the rest of the equals. Your sure never going to convince me you are a BETTER person than I. Nobody in my lifetime has proven themselves to be a superior to me, and it sure ain't gonna start with you!

Sorry to STGBEAN, Carol, and Bob. It wasn't any of you who riled me up. The original message was a good one, that should be shared with others. I'm not bashing your beliefs, only asking that some people (who don't seem to get it) let me live my life, my way, without being threatened about where I'll spend the rest of my days after my body has been put out to the curb some Monday morning.

More people need to conduct themselves like Chaplain Bill Ross. He won't shove it down your throat, won't berate you for having a different belief system, but will be the first in line if you feel you need his guidance.

Fat chance I'll ever "need" to be saved, but if it does someday happen, Bill Ross is the MAN to talk to!

Well said Frasson. You couldn't have summarized my opinion better - even down to the notion that the reason I did read this thread was that I wasn't offended by it's topic nor its reason for being here. If I wanted preaching though, I know where to find it.

i personally will NEVER go to a separate part of the internet to HIDE from athiests! i dont have to and i will never ...

I don't think the other board should be a place one is forced to HIDE, More like a board directly linked to that type of topics. Race fans go to race board, hockey fans go to hockey boards, Shoot, there's even boards for political debate.

I have no problem with this thread nor anyone's view of it. Just the fact that on the christian board if it was linked to a racing forum would give the opportunity for folks to GO look at racing. But if a thread de-railed on the religious board(like it did on this one)....they would say, why ya'll talkin about racing here?

From the lighter side....or the far side.....who knows.........HAVE FUN!
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.
