Sure, I pine away for the old days. Fewer disposable cars and less crashing each other and more respect for your fellow competitor and equipment. The two biggest competitors in the sport were Richard and David. They crashed each other one time and handled it with class, not a continued fight in the pits.

Physically attacking somebody is not "old school" and was not good in the old days and is not good now. You can paint it anyway you want but it was a classless move that keeps that redneck image around for stock-car racing. Just what NASCAR is trying to rid itself of. Kyle was put in a lose-lose situation and NASCAR recognized it.

Hey, Rowdy should be paid that fine from Childress to make it even more effective.

HAHAHAHA That is less than a good luncheon!!! Trust me that was one of the BEST things that could have happened for NASCAR!!!!!!

As far as the "redneck" image....when was it that the sport was the biggest??? That was when the "rednecks" could afford to support it! NASCAR tried to get all of the higher ups involved....and it worked...for a while, then they got bored and moved on! Now the "rednecks" can not afford to go because they got priced out of it and the hoity toities have decided that there is somthing better! I will take them rednecks all day long!!!! They are loyal and support what they love!

As far as Kyle being put into a lose lose...well...he has put himself in a position where he likes to be the bad guy! OK now you have the title, live with it! You know as well as I do that his strategy is to be the "villan" he tries to prevoke...If you poke the sleeping lion, eventually it will BITE!

What do you wanna bet ratings are up next race???? Hmmmmmmm

Did not see the problem, but wasn't it his grandson?

I have never pictured Rowdy as trying to be a villian. He just drives his car at ten-tenths and goes for a win each race and opportunity. I can't say that I have ever seen him drive dirty.

BTW, the little tap he gave Childress's car at the end of the race was pretty tame. Maybe the thought the kid was mirror driving a bit much.

It’s plain and simple what happened. Joey Coulter was driving a RCR truck and passed Busch on the last lap clean as can be, after the race Busch hit his truck on the cool down lap because he was mad he got beat. And as we all remember when Busch wrecked Harvick's car on pit road after Darlington Childress said if you touch any of my equipment again “I will take care of it myself”. And Childress kept his word. Busch is obviously talented but he has no values and honestly has probably never had to worry about fixing his car or paying for it. If NASCAR is going to say “have at it boys” they can’t allow some things and not others. Maybe Busch will now realize that you can’t be all big and bad on the track and have no consequences off the track. And seriously I would take Childress over Busch in a fight actually I can’t think of a Cup drive I wouldn’t take over Busch.

It wasnt his grandson it was his other #22 truck he owns with Joey driving it.Me personally i dont have a problem with what he did.He warned Kyle several times that he was tired of having his guys repair body damage that he intentionally did.I had the same problem happen to me with the same guy tearing my car up all the time. You can only take so much an it turned into a big fight in the pits an after that we never had a problem again.

Leave us Red necks out of this

I don't remember who referenced red necks but If it wasn't for us red necks there wouldn't be any Nascar. Where do you think stock car racing started? A bunch of red necks gathering to see who was fastest. I never remember hearing too many complaints in the old days. I started in racing in 1953 and sometimes when you came in off the track you kept ypour helmet on for a while to make sure no one was headed your way with a tire iron. I never remember anyone leaving and not coming back because of that either. I also don't remember car count problems al through the 50's, 60's 70's or 80's. It wasn't till the 90's the big money people tried to take the sport. I don't know what you have against red neck but i take offense at your reference. And about Busch he got what he had coming. I have seen that little squirt all around and he's about as nasty as they come. Just My 2 cents. Bob.....

Kyle Busch told Steve Wallace on tv after a race 2 seasons ago that he (Kyle) had more cars to wreck if that the way it was going to be. So maybe owners are getting tired of cars being wrecked by him. Talking about rednecks, once Pinellas Park got rid of a lot of their rednecks, Sunshine Speedway was gone. Its a redneck sport. Not enought rednecks in Florida to support short track racing now.

A discussion of the term redneck should be in a different thread. There was no intent of my part to hurt anyone's feelings. Heck, I use the term to describe myself...occasionally.

Childress is lucky that he wasn't charged with criminal assault.

Just because you don't like somebody doesn't give you the right to attack and hit them. Kyle has never punched anyone after a race.

I guess I saw a differant race than some of you. Kyle did not "hit" the kid on the cool down lap, he simply rubbed him, I took it as a congratulatory rub. Childress was trying to get Kyle banned, plain and simple. All he got was a lighter wallet. Oh, by the way I like Childress but he better learn to control himself before he gets hurt. I will say, at least he was man enough to walk up to Busch and give it to him, not like Harvick, tough guy Harvick, keeps his helmet on for protection and tries to hit someone strapped in a car. I used to like him, kind of, until he showed what a coward he is. I bet Kyle Busch MAY be the only cup driver that wouldn't of got out of his car and gave Budwhinner the spanking he deserves.
