Here's part of what's killin' it: how 'bout Street Stocks (metric Chevys, like y'all's Super Stocks) with enclosed trailers. *Sigh*...and there were only seven of these in the pits, but there were 27 Main Event Late Models (traveling series; only nine finished the 56 laps before rain came) and 23 Supermodifieds from as far away as New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Canada. There were also open-wheel Modifieds, but only about nine of those...

actually Professor, you go to the complainers forum, read Tazmans post. Let me save you the trouble professor of pointing out he's talking about a kart track and we're talking about short track racing, but one BIG problem is the same, it's called favoritism!! At least in the area where I am.

seeing racecars on open trailers when i was a kid was so cool,i found speedworld when i saw rickey marshalls car going to the track and followed them there.now i tell my kids i bet theres a racecar in that trailer, not that the trailers are bad(i like mine)but i still like seeing cars on open trailors

I like seeing the cars on open trailers i think it sparks intrest in people to come to a race. Its like watching a food commercial that makes you hungry. I also understand having a closed trailer at the same time with weather an such but i have seen closed trailers with see through sides so you could show your car an advertise it instead of guessing whats inside..

Robert Hart spoke on tape in an interview with Jim Fenton about open trailers. As he said, with open trailers it gave the public a view of the cars and ended up following them to the track. Enclosed trailers with no indication of what's inside have hurt short track racing.
Bob with florida Video has that interview somewhere.
-JIM-RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

here's Roberts interview.
I think open trailers are the ticket, but I can also understand the desire to keep all you have spent your hard earned money dry and safe. The next thing is to letter the trailer with a picture of your car, but that's expensive. I have been on vacation and followed open trailers to tracks I didn't know existed.
