True but pointless story: when I lived in San Antonio, I rented a car from her dad and raced it one night. Would you believe fate played a roll and I destroyed it in the heat?

Ahhh...I was so smitten with Miss Robin before she married that schmuck.

Goin' out on a limb here, but...

Robin McCall qualified for two Winston Cup Grand National races in 1982 (both at Michigan) at the age of 18; married to Wally Dallenbach, Jr., and ran (locally) All-Pro races at Palm Beach and New Smyrna, along with the World Series at New Smyrna. The picture is from the second race that year, where she crashed out on lap 47.

    Do I win?!

The NesQuik #10, I believe was Jeff Green.

That looks to be Jay Sauter...<?>....not real sure, though. Don't know a whole lot of Nationwide/Busch guys by looks...and don't recall who drove that car...

Smokey's 1966 Chevelle was actually built as a 7/8ths scale version of the real thing with all kinds of interesting "innovations"... The original deck lid was made of fiberglass and found accidentally when one of the NASCAR inspectors dropped his magnetic mini-flashlight on it and it rolled off... We have the original drivers side door from that car on display at the ISC Archives complete with scrapes from the wreck at Atlanta where Turner destroyed the car...

1986 at the old Atlanta configuration. Bill Elliott walked away with it. It was also the only Winston that ran caution-free, and also was the only one rfun straight through with no "breaks" or "segments".

    2) What driver won the last race in NASCAR's Convertible division in 1961?
Nelson Stacy at the Rebel 300 at Darlington. I had the wrong year, my fault. Should have said "1962":

    3) Besides all of the rules infractions, What was most unique about Smokey Yunick's Chevelle he took to Daytona in 1967?
Like I said, it was built to 15/16th-scale to "punch a smaller hole through the air".

    4) Why did Richard Petty's team decide to run a "vinyl" top on their '67 Belvedere at Daytona?
The team thought that the dimples in the vinyl would be "more aerodynamic", like a golf ball. The "vinyl" ended up peeling off the roof, and there was a photo of Richard jumping up and down on the roof.

    5) Who piloted this car, what year, and where?
Junior Johnson entered this car for Jack Ingram to pilot in the 1984 Daytona 500, as insurance in case his new driver, Neil Bonnett in the #12 (which didn't have any owner's points from the previous year because it was a new team) didn't make the show. However, Neil was solidly in the race, and this car was withdrawn.
