    Tire excuse is getting old....

Seriously, if you are a late model competitor, you are going to buy 2 sets of tires to race a special event anyway, if you plan to run competitively. If not, then I believe you can practice on any tire you want, but have to qualify and race on the spec tire, so you are still buying 1 set of tires, anywhere.

it really doesn't matter what tire or what fuel some one is going to bitch if ya hung them with a new rope they would cry to the folks that want to race go do it to the others keep it on jack stands the show will go on with or without ya but getting on here an saying what you say does not change shit it is what it is but when all the tracks are gone please come on here an tell me where your going to race its all about supporting racing not all about crying

Any brand of tire should be allowed at all race tracks . If one tire brand is faster , then thats what most racers will use . And theres nothing wrong with that . But the rules should be very clear on the hardness numbers allowed , the tires should be checked for hardness regularly and anyone who's tires don't meet the hardness numbers is done for the night . And an ENFORCED price limit per tire could also be implemented . When the tire companies have to compete with each other to get business instead of writing a check to the track and forcing everyone to use their product , especially if open tire rules are state wide , i suspect you'll see some very good tires produced for a very good price . No tire company is going to walk away from a track or a series . They're going to fight for a share of the market .

Actually , the larger issue here is the fact that suppliers , engine builders , tire dealers , car builders are being pushed out of the sport at an ever increasing rate . And as sick as stock car racing is right now , the sport can't afford to lose anyone .
What i mean by this , is that every track or series that goes to crate motors or spec motors pushes some engine builders out of the sport completely , or into another segment of racing . It doesn't have to work that way of course . With a properly written spec engine blueprint , any race engine builder should be able to ( and encouraged to ) build a legal engine . So why limit it to three or four engine builders . Well.... we all know why it's often limited to only a small handfull of builders . But racing can't aford to keep running people off . Same with race tires . There are local race tire dealers for each brand of race tire . What happens to them when the local track , or a series accepts a big check from one brand to be the sole supplier . The dealers for the other brands have to sell tires to stay in business . How could it possibly benefit the sport to squash competition and force these guys to close their doors ?
These aren't just my ideas , i've seen them on this and other forums for years . I just think it's time to act on them . Racing needs more people involved , not rules that make it impossible for all but a few to be involved .

This is "my own personal statement". I have been around the track for a very long time, i started as a fan then a drivers wife and then employee. i have been reading Karnac just as long. All i know is for the first time, IN A LONG TIME, the track has improved so much with all the repairs from sound to bleachers, a concession that you are not afraid to get food from to everything that was broken and run down, made like new, lots of paint, i can go on and on. Did it have to be done, not really, but it was. I know also for the first time in a long time, PGS had a really, really nice banquet, great trophy’s, "Goodyear" jackets, points fund money, did it have to be done? no it didn’t, Kevin only had the track for 6 months, but he did it, "for the drivers". $10.00 to get in to any race, he could of charged more but he didn’t because he promised he would make it affordable for families to come out and watch racing. I am only speaking for myself but we really have a good staff that has been around for a while and are very thankful that we still have a track. We have tried to just keep the track open, up and running, and stay out of all the "racing drama" and all people seem to want to do is find "some thing" that they can just pick apart and criticize. It is really a shame that "certain" people have to resort to childish, evil behavior, just to be able to say " i told you so"?????? (When they really don’t know). PGS had an AWSOME opening night, it took a team effort (PGS Team) and even with the rain last week, the fans were coming into the track. All I am saying is I am proud to be a part of a great team and “finally” work for someone that really does care about the track as much as we do “and it shows”. The childish and evil out there from people that do not want to see a track succeed is really a shame. I have met some best friends and some great friends at PGS and hope that Kevin continues to do the Awesome job of keeping our track heading in a great direction.

                  WTG Linda.....

I too am so proud of all thats been done to our race track.Funny thing is that most of the posts that complain about racing problems arent written by racers. so whatever Kevin does, I support. the proof is in the pudding. Great crowds and good car counts.
Keep up the good work. Kevin has the right idea. Take care of your own house before worrying about your neighbors! ;-)
