They did test so thats a good start and if the price was right and they last longer whats wrong with that.
The rest of the tracks should be watching eastbay they are dooing the homework for them. If it dasent work only eastbay getts hurt. At least thy have the guts to try and fix it. The rest of the tire cos are tying to make a better deal now for the other tracks and that is the way it works. Hoosher has won in dirt tire rules every time in the past. Hang on there will be more to come im sure. Goodyear will spend lotts of $$$$ to buy there way in there and im sure that eastbay will watch over there racer they allways have..

My thoughts only I have no facts.

      Just thinking about this.
The owner at Eastbay before the present ones now went to Goodyear and the way i rember signed a 3 year contract and quit in the first year and went back to Hoosher. Goodyear gave them$100,000 to chavge in advance and there was a lawsute.

        tires

Why is it tracks have to run one specific type of tire? How much of a kickback does the track get for running that tire? Up north you can run hoosier, american racer, whatever as long as they punch a certain number.
And as everyone knows competition is a good thing, drives price of tires down. I guess i just don't get it.
Just bought hoosiers for my mod at putnam speedway last saturday for $125 a tire

I dont see where making tires $40 a piece cheaper is going to hurt the class. So let me get this straight alot of people are going to leave EB because now you are going to be able to save a $160 on a set of tires. I'll try to figure that one out when I have time.
As for other tracks being on Hoosiers and EB being on GoodYear. This would only matter if guys traveled alot. 99% of the racers now a days race there home track and thats it. What tire your home track is on doesn't really matter if it's the only place you race.
Give them a chance as was said at the banquet they did this to save the racers money and if they stayed on Hoosier the tire price in 2011 would be higher than in 2010.
i believe we ran them in 98 or 99. not sure. but they sucked! the timing is what has people pissed. my question is why was eb paying more for thier hoosier than every other track? as far as people leaving im sure theres alot more to that story as well. this is just more bs added to a pile! i just dont think the goodyears will stand up in the end, i think you'll be buying twice as many tires. jmo... but thats all it is just an opinion. i wouldnt want to be in thier shoes for sure, you cant please everyone! just seems to be somthing underlining there.
