Wow! He must have had a hell of a year to lay claim to an award with such prestige as this one! I mean when I think of the list of driver's who have won in the past....wait....who HAS won in the past? I mean I'm pretty sure it was somebody who won a lot....or maybe somebody who has been a perennial front runner for years around the state....or maybe someone who has put in the work and raced his way through the learning divisions and gained the respect of the racers and fans alike without ever feeling the need to get on a message board and implore people he doesn't know to cast votes for him in a meaningless(other than the free body, I guess) contest. Although what would a guy like that need another award for anyways.

Yeah, I'd let this little fish ASA thing go on by the wayside and set my sights on some endorsement contracts for the boy.....THAT's where the big dollars are......

Well, there and also in those girlie-man, tea and crumpet road racing series....I'll bet you could buy 3 ABC bodies for what it'll cost those day-sailers to fix replace one of those fenders they nicked during driver introductions..........

And with this Daytona gig under his belt, I'll bet some of them dere "yooropeon tar" companies are chompin' at the bit for a high school "tire specialist" to show their overpaid engineers how to read a tire tape and an analog pressure gauge......more than likely they caught one of your postS about his high ranking, official team status and after they get done casting their votes on the ASA site they'll start drafting up an offer....I see an interview with Jackie Stewart on the horizon........

And to add to that even though it is kool to even be able to be a part of the Rolex 24....when Mr South said on here "My son runs the whole team" i laughed so hard i peed my pants! Where is the fine line between team boss, car chief, crew chief, or whatever they would be called to correlate that type of position with the kid who rolles the tires to the pit wall and put the air (he's told to) in them. That's a pretty far stretch. Jr needs more wins championships (in a latemodel) to even be concidered. My vote would have to go to Justin Drawdy. And again i'm not being mean........Mr south is proud of his boy as i would be to but c-mon...................he ain't all that YET.

Carol I am with you...there are to many excellent drivers in the State of Florida that NASCAR should look at...Jeff Choquette, B J McLeod, Jason Boyd, Jeff Scofield, Derrick Kelly, Scottie Crockett, Chad Pierce, David Pollen, Jr. Jessica Murphy, Tim Russell, Jimmy Cope, Mike Cope, Travis Cope, David Rogers, Jason Garver the list goes on and on, but according to what I have heard and seen, you must have MANY BIG sponsors, upfront money for the developmental, talent, the right attitude, dress and demeanor. Those who think some have the money don't know the truth. You would think that they would look at the fact that Short Track racing brings them their new young blood for the sport. Look at Kyle Busch...he really was great at USA and he enjoyed himself. NASCAR is sleeping and really needs to wake up.

OJ, I really get a kick reading you stuff. Keep it comming. I was just trying to clairify to winger that he was the only nagative post out of hundreds. And he was. I never said that he said anything negative about Dustin. It was directed towards me. And thats fine. OJ. Just because he is only 17 doesn't mean he doesn't have world of experiance. He won his first championship at 6. He vas V.P. of our race track at 12. He has 421 wins and 7 championships to his name. He was the first kid in 40 yrs to win at Speedweeks and he won on his 3rd start in his late model. We went on many sites to let people know that the voting was going on. Over 300 people that know Dustin that are voting for him. If you don't know him or you don't want to vote for him than don't. And if you don't know about his driving career than don't down play him. Since we started racing stocks we can not afford to run for a championship but I can tell you that when he does run for a championship he will be a contendor.

Do you think that someone like the big corperate teams in ASA or teams like Choquette with the unlimited funds in ASA really neesd the body that they are giving away. Well we do. And you guys knocking a father trying to do everything in his power to help his son acheive his goals is just plain wrong. If my father, God rest his sole, had done everything in his power to help me than I probabily would have unlimited funds and wouldn't even be on this board.

OJ, Dustin has Daytona, Sebring, Mid Ohio, and Raod Atlanta under his belt. So please don't down play him if you don't really know the truth.

I don't know any of the presidential canidates either but they all are asking my for my vote. I will research them befor I vote. I am not going to vote for all of them just because they asked me to and you don't have to vote for Dustin if you don't want to. But if you don't even know the voting is going on than who can you vote.

Benny, You are oh so right about being a part of the 24. But again, You are clueless to what Dustin's duties are. He used to hang out at Orbit when he was younger. It is the largest shop in our area. The owner told him to come back when he got his licence and he could work there. The day he got his licence he started working at Orbit. Know he is there longest employee. He disasembles and disasembles every piece on the cars and motors. He drove the fl70 with the stacker to the races. He does basicly everything or he tells someone to do it. And if you think that being the tire speicalist is putting air in the tires than you are more clueless than I ever imagined. Are you serious. Benny. The team boss, car chief, crew chief is Rodger. He ownes Orbit. Dustin is his longest employee and his right hand. Like I have said befor, I have been racing for 30yrs and we owned our own race track and I still can't beleive the amount of responabilty he has. And for you to your opinion on what you think Dustin's duties are is turly unfounded. Do me a favor. Call Orbit (561-840-2109) and talk to rodger befor you post your unfounded opinion of my son because just from your statements I can tell how clueless you really are about his position. I can tell you right know that besides Rodger, nobody has more responsabilty on that team.

I would like to ask both of you just one question and please answer it truthfully. Have you guys ever really witnessed Dustin in action at work in the shop or during a race that he is working for Orbit? If not, than where does your unfounder opinion come from?

Dustin and I have worked very very hard to get him where he is today. Don't try to take that away from him with your unfounded opinion. Do some research and then post your opinion of facts not some vision that you have dreamed up in your head. I would really like to know what you guys were doing at 17. I bet I could dream up a good unfounded picture of you like you did about Dustin.

Lets put it this way, My wife has been a CLA for over 20 yrs and Dustin brings home the same money. You tell me how many parents can say that about their 17yr old. And he made double that last week. Can you say that about your 17 yr old?

You want to know why The F1 driver Johnny Mollum the over the wall crew has those looks on there face. Because Dustin is chewing there a$$es off for being at the photo shoot instead of helping to set up the pits befor the race. And I can tell you that in seconds the crew was helping to set up. Benny, beleive me, he run the show. Call Rodger befor you pee your paints again and start posting unfounded opinions about my son. Get your facts straight. I gave you the #.

Benny, since you think you know so much about Dustin's job as a tire speicalist than why don't you post for the public what you think the proceedure that a tire goes through from when it comes off of the car until it goes back on the car. P.S. To save yourself a little humilation, don't say tire tape like OJ did. You will really show just how clueless you really are. These are $400 each Pirelli tires. C-mon. And do you know what a modular wheel is. Don't forget that part of the proceedure too.

OJ Benny and Winger this is for you , you have to realize who you are dealing with when you post a response to Mr. south 59. Any comment that is made to him he takes as an attack on Dustin. Once that switch clicks on in his head then there is no reasoning with him. He goes above and beyond being a proud father.What is really funny is that we are sick and tired of hearing about how great Dustin is. I am sure that Dustin has raw talent in an ASA car but frankly I could care less that any kart driver won 600 plus races most of which were on Daddies track. As for you Andy why don't you and Dustin get sponsership money from team Orbit? Things to make you go hmmm. Andy why did Dustin drop out of the Pepsi 150? Yep, we had a heck of a time finding modular wheels for our POS Nova, but when we did, it picked up 3 1/10'th.
