no I am not saying that Sunshine Speedway is going to reopen, it will never reopen and I know that for a fact. However, there is that "group of people" that think there is going to be a big time racer or some big money group that is going to step up and reopen it. And then "there are people" like the BRING BACK THE TRACK group. "The ones" that promoted the theme of having investors to come in and buy or rent the track from the state, rebuild from the ground up. Sold BRING BACK THE TRACK t-shirts from a website, promise to donate the money from sales to some charity. Never heard were or when they donated the money. ABYSS64, how am I doing, am I using those racists phrases enought. Since you have so much knowledge about Sunshine, what were those rumors that Bonnie would start on her own every year? ...about six weeks ago the head of the company was interviewed in lenny sammons' column in area auto racing news -- sammons owns the publication -- and told lenny that after speedweeks, the company wasnt interested in running weekly shows at volusia. if that has changed, great, i hope it has, but it was no rumor.

You, yourself said that "we" meaning you and others waited to see what rumor was going to start every year and then would bet on it. Now, that would mean a group of people, a special group. They would be people like you. There was another group of people, like myself, that didn't wait to hear the rumor. Just as you wrote on another post, how you did not like the Hills and that you knew others that felt the same as you. So, how can it be stereotyping grouping people that have the same likes or dilikes as you. If you have a better way to word this please do so. The last thing I would want to be is a unknowing racist. Oh I've been in many Darren, who's that guy that drove the black 18 late model? I believe there's even a youtube vid of him and Jimmy Cope getting into it on the infield. He could most likely answer your question as he had to have Pinellas County's finest escort him to the pay window and out of the track, including to his little after race hangout Denny's that was just down the street, myself, Mowery, Overstreet, Bechtlhimer(sp) and Haines all wanted a piece of him several times. I had been banned for life from Sunshine on two occasions, one time I and Randy Warren were escorted out of the office on the same night over a bad call from that jackass flagman they had, that's another story in itself! How many times did Coghill have to have protection from mommy Hill after a race there? I was involved in a pretty good one at Charlotte County until Shelnut got involved, then it was all hell breaking loose!! You and me may have even bumped heads somewhere, who knows.

First, 64 happens to be the year i was born, abyss is my nickname, if you were as smart as you think you are you would have seen I have signed several of my post as Jeff, my given name, my sponsor was,is and will be 98ROCK. I am more than grown up, all 6'6 295 lbs of me, and if you think your under my skin think again, I've dealt with bigger badder idiots than you ever we're or hope to be.
