I wasn't trying to imply that Bush was a good president but he wasn't a socialist. I don't object to a black president what I object to is a socialist president with ties to Muslims. That sucks in my book but Carols right we'll over come it. I don't play the dem repub thing either I vote for what I consider the best candidate.

"And exactly what has he done and accomplished?"
Understandable, if I were asked that question, I wouldn't have anything to reply either.

It amazes me the hatred that causes people to laugh out loud because they guy got hurt playing a sport. It's just mind boggling to me.

Snowball...
the atrocities happened long before Bush...the government needs to get back on the track our forefathers set up.... i think the electoral votes stink. we usually get two idiots to chose from. and we know very little about them. all we hear is them bragging about what they will do or tearing each other to ribbons. i never said things were good in govt. i simply said Americans have got to figure out how to fix it. the talking part is over. we know the problems. now we have to fix it and there is strength in unity. color, origin... they dont matter. its whats inside a persons heart and mind that matter.i sure dont know how to do it... but surely someone does...lol the basic concept of this country is what held it together... we were the richest and strongest country on earth. we know how to do that so we just need to get back... there are so many things wrong it will take a long time to fix but we need to stop talking and support the American way now or it will only get worse. i think we have seen enough destruction and i think we are strong enough to fix whats been broken...the UNITED states have to UNITE!

p.s.
someone mentioned Kennedy and the Bay of Pigs... thats what we need. someone who isnt afraid ... and will hold his/her ground... i think before we can try to fix other peoples countries we need to fix our own. good debates are fun. we dont have to agree as long as we dont insult. no need for that...everyone is allowed an opinion..thats what discussion boards are for. its a good way to give ideas that might spread...lol our troops are dying in lands where nothing has changed for thousands of years. they need to come home and protect our borders and let those people protect theirs.Last edited by carolwicks; 11-29-2010, 06:29 AM.

Your right about one thing, both parties have crooks in them. Why do you think the Tea party got started? And didn't you see a good number of them won?

I'm not really in this debate, but just for fun....
For everybody comparing Bush and JFK, don't forget Kennedy was a Democrat. The Bay of Pigs mess you call brave and daring was actually conceived and planned under Eisenhower (Republican), Kennedy later thought he may have been set up to look bad when it failed. Of course today's dems and rebs don't have all the same views as 50 years ago, but you get the point. Hmmm... maybe we really should judge people individually and not with a broad party brush.
The first Trade Center bombing happened in Feb 1993, one month after Bush 1 left office. The Cole was attacked one month before Bush 2 won the election and 9-11 happened 8 months after he took office. Plenty of blame to go around. Yes Carol, the atrocities happened long before Bush, like when our forefathers forcefully removed Native Americans from their lands and forced Africans into slave labor to make sugar farming more profitable. I'm not so sure we need to return to "some" of the ways our forefatheers did things. There are reasons things change, sometimes for the better.
Ending rant here... proceed

cant disagree about slavery and the Indians... but we have make alot of progress in that field. so now we have other problems and we just need to fix them.i never said this country was perfect at any time in history. but now we are in a nuclear era... we cant go on a battlefield with substandard guns and fight for a cause. the president at this time needs to be able to handle some pretty crazy people who want nothing more than to destroy us... to handle a poverty stricken country hell bent on destroying our people with drugs and warfare... our neighbors! a defective immigration problem, nuclear weapons, corporate robbery, serious mind altering depressive drugs! .... we need a government and people who will stand together ... all the fighting amongst ourselves gives "them" an advantage...

With regard to domestic policy, Obama will continue to pursue socialism at every opportunity. He would like to see every state adopt the policy's of
California. Wouldn't that just be grand?
With regard to Foreign policy, Obama will continue to ABDICATE responsibility
at every opportunity.
Clinton signed the bills that a Republican congress wrote, that reduced the deficit. He was smart enough to move back to the center when he knew he
was in trouble.
Obama is a "Saul Alinsky" trained idealogue who will do no such thing. He will
"pretend" that he is moving to the center, however.

Until we rid ourselves of this ridiculous two party system, the Democrats vs. Republicans thing will be just like pro wrestling... It's the heels vs. the baby faces... for awhile, one is in control, then the other is in control... It keeps things going and things, of course, never really change....
Until we are really a government "By the people and for the people" as stated in the constitution where our elected representatives actually represent their constituency instead of represent their party affiliation or special interests, we will continue to have the same crap served up to us year in and year out...
You must realize that this country is not run by the President or Congress, but by big business, big banks and foreign money interests... and just try to get in their way!!
