Hey Ron, a race car should be the furthest thing from your mind right now... Best wishes and prayers to your family... My wife is a cancer survivor and I'm sure Ron, Jr. will be too...

      hi Ron

my dr. gave me a choice. drink the nasty stuff in gallon jugs or take 4 pills with a glass of water every 15 mins. thats what i chose. it wasnt pleasant but i did it... the colonoscopy itself is nothing! no pain... and i agree with your wife.. please go. your son will want you here when he comes home. my ex husband had a huge section of his cancerous colon removed and was doing great in a couple days. no pain...
the worse thing about fear is fear itself... your son is a big boy with a lust for life. that and the fact that you both have all of us praying for you.... how can you go wrong. your life is just as important as his. who the heck is your wife gonna pick on? luv to you Ron... you are a nice man. i agree with Dave... forget this racing stuff and get healthy so you can come back...stay in touch with us so you dont have to face the C monster alone...;-)

I just looked through this thread again:

        Title says:
"Press Release: Outcome of Owners Meeting"

        First post says:
The outcome of the owners meeting held Oct 4, was very successful.
Tracks that were represented agreed that they will be working together for the 2011 racing season. It was a very well received meeting all the way around. Owners have agreed to work together hand in hand. They are looking at using the same tires, same fuel prices, and same payout for racers.

        Further details to come later.
*This* is what they call a "press release"? All it says is, it "was very successful", and "very well received". That's it? For a so-called "press release"? Please.

So....?? How many of the eight asphalt tracks were represented? *Did* this "meeting" include the dirt tracks as well? Or just the asphalt tracks?

Let's hear some "meat" of this story....

                  Jimmy,

The meat is there, it's baloney ! I'm supposed to believe track owners are going to work together to help racing ? Something tells me that any agreements will not be in favor of drivers but the tracks themselves.

Drivers and car owners better get ready for a meeting too.

I can say that we don't allow other brands at PGS. We want all the cars we can get, but we are a Goodyear track and it's important that there is a level playing field and everyone is on the same tire. Too many shenanigans go on when you allow any tire, even if it is used. Guys will go buy a set of Hoosiers, run them up and down the road to scuff them up, and then show up with "used" Hoosiers that are softer and have an unfair advantage. This keeps everything fair.
