Does anyone know who owns it.

It was sold to to a group of developers. The last I heard there were still no foreseeable racing plans.

Unless something has changed, the owner is Tony Amico. There are "For Sale" signs posted on the property from Colliers Arnold Commercial Realty. I went by the track two weeks ago and took some pictures and a short video to share on the board, but i haven't been able to get either the pictures or the video to download as an attachment. I've tried from two different computers with two different operating systems, i even sent them to a friends e-mail and tried to get them to unload from his computer, still no luck. If someone from Admin wants to give me an e-mail I'll send them to you so we can share them with the board.

            give it up

the track is gone forever, they lost oll the money they could aford then sold out. there were 2 real race fans and a good promoter trying to have a first class track with a class show. the fans told them buy there actions that was not what they wanted. ARCA race poor croud. reason $5.00 more per ticket.
we the fans told Billy what he didnt want to belive about the new race fan. we sold out the best track we could ever wish for the cost to each of us if we went to all the shows $48.00 per year.I read all the neg post on here about the price telling others not to go. well it worked. now we only have a few tracks left and thank god there are no land buyers right now. be carefull and suport your local TRACK OR YOU MIGHY LOSE IT.

One of the biggest problems was that, unless you knew where to look, like KARNAC etc., no one east of Lakeland had any idea what was ever going on there... Nothing advertised or printed in the Orlando Metro area or along Florida's east Coast... A million tourists a week just 30 minutes from the place and no advertising in the Disney area whatsoever... very poor promotion from the word go... Of course, they had Haywood Henson!!

                    jeeez rick

ya sure know how to make a grown woman cry... that pic is sad. what a huge loss... sure wish there was a way to restore it and start over. this should be a lesson... we need to do all we can to save the tracks we have left. i know it can be expensive but promotion is so important. alot of it can be free... but it takes some hard work and dedication. i was always amazed at the low fan count at USA several times we drove up. the place was gorgeous...i just dont think alot of people were aware it was there and no doubt people had no idea of the awesome racing that happened there... you never knew who you would bump into. just a huge sad loss! i hate thinking about it. ;-( some of the things i remember were dennis boyd working hard on jasons car, my dearest friend kyle busch playing with rivets while insulting Chaplain Bill & little bobby, david stremme (what a wonderful man), Bobby Santos 2 & 3!, Chris Fontaine playing with his adorable little mini pincer chasing a laser beam, Dickie Anderson running around on his golf cart always chattering away with some other driver, Justin Drawdy, Jay Middleton, Lee & Mike Faulk..Hooters Cup, ARCA...i met Billy Bigley, Bubba Pollard, LeRoy Porter, and so many fantastic racers at USA...too many to be able to mention...
well i prefer to remember the old girl as she was before her demise. she was beautiful and she was special... that is my preferred memory. my less than happy memory was not being able to get over that dam wall to take pictures. i remember James Powell saying he would help me!!! ROFLLLL what the heck did he have for breakfast??? i never made it over that wall but drivers were so kind and would turn around for me and let me take their pics... i think Wayne Jefferson was the first...guess i need to stop babbling before someone insults me...roflllll however seeing what she has become can be a valuable lesson to us...maybe...

Stealing a quote from Roger that describes it best, looking at the photos gives me a knot in my stomach.

                        Yep it's sad...

That track was the main reason I sold my sportsman and bought a truck and eventually sold my truck and bought a SSS car! Got to race there 7 times and every race was AWESOME!

Was that from the front or back stretch?

Backstretch, near the entrance of turn 3. It looks even MORE stripped down than when I was there last... and it looked like a bombing range then.
