This was Jay Hearon's figure 8 car at Hialeah.

J-mac, I really don't think any track is going to make a big deal about odd numbers. A harmless exception was Citrus a month or so ago. I took my # 85X car, but there was already another #85, AND they don't recognize "X"'s. The track told me to add a one, so I ended up with the goofy number 185X that night.

Ron I also like Marty's #237 cars. They always looked like low slung street cars with cut out fenderwells. Very cool looking.

Bobby Allison's #312's were pretty race cars - the dark red and gold made a good color combination.

I remember a coupla years up at New Smyrna's World Series where Donnie Allison was scored as the #288 in his blue and gold Nova.

                  Keep 'em comin'! ;-)

Yep, Jim...that was one of my FAVORITE race cars, that gold #III. Bryan brought that number to our car when he started driving for us in about '84 in order to keep his points at St. Pete; at Inverness, we ran it as a #XII (Roman numeral 12). In the first pic, that's a big duct-taped #III over the painted #12 that was on the car; that's my dad on the far right (black shirt, red/white hat) and car owner Bob Kirk third from right in the white shirt and jeans.

We also had the #121 with John Gertsner drving at Lakeland's old 1/4-mile, and then when my brother started driving at Orlando in 2004, we picked up the #112, because Drawdy was already registered as the 12. We also had Junior Purcel in the car as #112 back in 1990 at the first Florida Pro race (at least, I *THINK* it was the first Florida Pro event, down at Bradenton).

Mike McCrary had the m5. Davey Crockett drove the 500 car. Lee Humphries drove 111 in the hobby class all at Palm Beach. The Humphries car lost a roof in a feature race.
