Already a juggernaut in the racing parts arena, Race Car Engineering recently moved to much larger quarters to house their national parts distribution business.
The move was needed for several reasons, owner Steve Dorer explained on Tuesday night’s Real Racin’ USA show, “Recently we are stepping into the drag racing markets and also the “dirt” market a little heavier, we are starting to stock the parts for sprint cars dirt late models, modifieds, ministocks and sportsmans. We just want to be able to get these guys parts locally and at reasonable prices.”
The new building, five times larger than the old store on Crevasse Street in Lakeland, Fl extends to 17,000 square feet in addition to a much larger parking lot.  The new building is 5 miles north of the old location, at the same “Hooters” exit, Route 98 in Lakeland, Florida(Exit 32) and is on the West side of the road.
The new building boasts a 10,000 square foot warehouse and an impressive 7,000 square foot show room. One of the most visible sponsors of race tracks, racing series and racing media in the Sunshine State and beyond, to Dorer it just makes good business sense to be highly visible. “It’s helping them and also helps me promote my business, it makes my business better and its better for the customers, the more I sell the more I can buy and give the customer better pricing.” But there is more to it than just dollars and cents for Dorer, “It is kind of nice to go to tracks and see your name on a bunch of cars, it makes you feel good to give something back to all the customers you have that spends their time and money buying stuff from us.”
