Real Racin USA Media
Now that the Fourth of July Independence Day celebrations are in the books, and the “Firecracker 400” winner has been decided, attention once again turns to the “real” world of racing.
You notice we didn’t call it the “softdrink of choice 400” we called it the Firecracker 400. Just because NASCAR can’t get it right, doesn’t mean we have to follow suit. That is something Real Racin USA will get into when Terry Wall fires up his “NASCAR Fastalk” show this month.
A quick rundown of some major July events on Real Racin’ USA:
- Monday July 9 “Inside Florida Racing” (7-9 PM) features the legendary Dick Anderson aka “The King of Short Tracks” .
- Tuesday July 10 “Real Racin’ USA Live!” (6:30-8:30 PM) hosts the TBARA Winged Sprint Car night at the Snook River Grill in Bradenton, Florida. Drivers will bring their cars and the entire show will be dedicated to Florida’s biggest short track attraction.
- Tuesday July 10 “All Harley Drags” (8:30 – 9:00 PM) features Valerie Thompson, a world land speed record holder at Bonneville Salt Flats. This young lady is sponsored by GoDaddy.com and appeared in their Super Bowl ad.
- Monday July 16 “Inside Florida Racing” (7-9 PM) the incomparable promoter Don Nerone along with Sandy Nerone will take calls from race fans all evening long.
- Tuesday July 24 “Sunshine Speedway Reuion Show” on Presented By Real Racin’ USA Live! at Quaker Steak & Lube in Pinellas Park, Florida (4 PM-whenever)
- Tuesday July 31 Real Racin’ USA Live! spends the evening with the Reutimann Famliy, live from the Snook River Grill, with the highlight of the evening being an extended interview with Nextel Cup star David Reutimann.
Of course Buzzie and Wayne and the gang will be on hand, so bring down your family to meet their family. There are even more events planned for August, as the Real Racin’ USA network continues to grow.
We welcome Five Star Racecar Bodies, Port City Racing and Powermaster as new sponsors of the “ASA Fastlane” which airs every Wednesday evening at 8 PM. The ASA Late Model Series is making waves nationally and Real Racin’ USA’s “ASA Fastlane” is keeping fans abreast of the incredible rise of this short track racing series.
Our drag racing entertainment to date have centered around the “All Harley Drags”. This show by month’s end will have its own separate identity paired up with a half-hour drag racing show. “Straightlining with Stevie” featuring the awesome Steve LeTempt. Steve announces as many as 50 events each year. If it moves in drag racing, Stevie knows about it.
As many as 500 or more race fans are expected to pack the Quaker Steak & Lube in Pinellas Park on Tuesday, July 24 for the Sunshine Speedway Reunion. Funny how things develop. After the Pete Orr Tribute show earlier this year, we were all hanging around talking and still buzzing from having a NASCAR legend on our show (Darrell Waltrip). Rick Anges got the idea that a Sunshine reunion show would be a good idea, and of course we all said yes!! Terry Scampton, the genius behind the Racers Helping Racers fund and owner of Lugnuts (the best race bar ever in the annals of Florida motorsports), wanted to do an event later in the year so we all agreed, let’s do it now. Spontaneity is a wonderful thing. Many old timers and current drivers alike are bringing race cars, the biggest buzz since the speedway actually closed in humming around Tampa and St.Petersburg these days.
And the whole event will be broadcast live on Real Racin USA Live!
Don Nerone arguably has had more impact on Florida racing that anyone in the last 20 years. Sometimes controversial, sometimes prophetic, but always entertaining Don and his wife Sandy Nerone will take questions all evening long on Monday July 16. We expect the lines to be jammed since no race promoter around the south sparks emotional debates more than Don Nerone. In light of this we will open a special chat room on the night of the show so that questions can get asked of Don through that medium also.
