A spectacular week of racing news and interviews is on tap for race fans this week from the studios of Real Racin USA. Monday night’s “Inside Florida Racing” continues its series on Florida Race Tracks 2008, interviewing this week Rusty Marcus from Orlando Speedworld, Rob Kohler from New Hendry County Speedway and Tommy Dunford from Bronson Motors Speedway.
KARNAC.com will announce its Dirt and Asphalt Driver of the Year and also Promoter of the Year for 2008. The results may surprise a lot of fans.
Real Racin USA begins it’s “Inside Florida Racing” driver of the Month Program this month and the details will be announced on the show.
One of the South’s longest running racing shows, “Trackside Tonite” out of Daytona can now be heard “on-demand” on Real Racin’ USA, or live on Mondays at 8:00 PM. This week’s special guest is the “Doctor” Danny Johnson Danny is scheduled to test the JIR motorsports 27j at Volusia Speedway Park this week. Out of the big block modified and into a late model, Johnson will try to defend his 2007 Dirtcar Nationals championship.
On Tuesday night Promoters remain in the spotlight with John Kee, Marketing Director for the new ASA Southeast Tour, bringing major news about the awesome new TV package and what fans and drivers can expect in 2008 from this Super Late Model touring series. Joe Schmaling, promoter of the SuperCup Series, with the latest news on the series which features the steel bodied race cars formerly used by the Hooters ProCup. They will kick off their first season beginning in March in North Carolina.
Dennis Nixon handles the short track side of the South Georgia Motorsports Park plus does a daily radio show promoting racing in North Florida. South Georgia Motorsports Park features the top traveling series as well as local Saturday night racing. Dennis talks about race promotion and media.
Shawn Stewart from the North Carolina Motorsports Assn. will be talking about the recent release of “The Short Track – White Paper”. A must read for anyone concerned about the future of the sport of short track stock car racing. (www.MotorsportsNC.org). Also on Tuesday night 7-9 PM a couple of up and coming drivers are featured. Blake Lehr, Super Late Model driver sponsored by the Orlando predators recently moved from Orlando to Concord NC will race at Lakeland’s Speedfest 2008 this weekend. Andy Zeuss is taking over in 2008 behind the wheel for modified star Junior Miller in the NASCAR WHELEN Southern Modifieds.
DRAG RACING:
On Wednesday evening 8-9 PM Stevie LeTempt is back in the studio with his “Straightlining With Stevie” show, this week features Ralph Hester, promoter of the Immokaleee Dragstrip in South Florida. Hester is one of the best in business, as voted by his peers. Jill Canuso, a young lady driving the 300 mph jet dragster known as the “BIC LIGHTER QUEEN OF DIAMONDS”. This firey young gal stands 4’11 and weighs in at 108lbs, fire suit and all. Al Hanna calls her the human tune up. Hanna Motorsports is really excited to have her on board for 2008 and when you tune in you will understand why.
AHDRA’s own Sonny Burres, “The oldest rookie of the year in AHDRA’s history, will talk about his fulfilling his dream in 2007 and his goal of taking his Kresto Pro Drag Bike to the number one spot for 2008. Will he be the oldest AHDRA champion at 72 years young?
Also this week on Real Racin USA, fans of the ASA Late Model Series can tune in to the O’Reilly ASA Fastlane” on Wednesday at 9 PM and on Monday at 9 PM is T-Bone and Buck with the NASCAR Call-in show “NASCAR Fastalk”.
