Real Racin’ USA Media
The “ASA Fastlane” returns to its regularly scheduled time this week, Wednesday 8-9 PM, with a interesting mix of news and interviews. Beau Slocumb, driver of the 08 ASA Southern Division entry, was a featured guest on Tuesday’s Real Racin’ USA Live! show. We will replay a part of that interview for ASA fans on the “ASA Fastlane”. The Georgia driver is hosting a big event to help support his race team in Macon Georgia this very night (Wednesday July 18) with good friend and Nextel Cup star Ryan Newman.
“Big Al” Styer is the crew chief of the number 3 machine piloted by Brian Blum, another young Florida driver who is trying to make his mark on the ASA Late Model Series tour. Both of them will be guests on tonights show. Al has been around racing a very long time and is the father of a pretty successful crew man and driver himself, and is helping Brian Blum learn the ropes.
There are two people at the race track on race day with unique perspectives no one else has. One is the flagman, standing high atop the action with enormous responsibility. The other is the a motorsports photographer. Sometimes he puts himself in dangerous positions to get “the shot” that tells the story. Chuck Gonzalez is the ASA Late Model Series photographer and he is a darn good one, been doing it since the early 1990s. Chuck has agreed to be a guest on “ASA Fastlane” and though he won’t be giving up any trade secrets, he certianly will bring a unique perspective to the listeners.
If you have a guest idea for our shows or comments, please let us know, we love to hear what you the race fan has to say. Tune in Wednesdays at 8 PM or listen to any of the archived shows on our “ASA Fastlane” page using the links on the left.
