  • Problem with chewing up belts

Our 86 Monte Carlo 305 is chewing up the alternator and power steering belts.
Anybody have any ideas of what to do?

Also does anyone know where I can find the Gatorback Goodyear belts?
    I can't find them anywhere.

    Thanks Jeff

Aside from the obious rotten and cracked used belts or looseness(also too tight): Out of alignment of the pulleys or wrong "V" in the pulley(s) for that type belt. Loose brackets can contribute. Of course, if you are turning a massive amount of RPM, anything can happen.

If Racing in a circle, we never used an alternator belt anyhow.
