  • Problem with chewing up belts

Our 86 Monte Carlo 305 is chewing up the alternator and power steering belts.
Anybody have any ideas of what to do?

Also does anyone know where I can find the Gatorback Goodyear belts?
    I can't find them anywhere.

    Thanks Jeff

From my experiences it's usually a pulley alignment issue. Sometimes they get out of alignment when the tension is set, then gets worse when more tension is applied. Check pulley alignment, brackets, and all fasteners that hold the brackets in place. There are other reasons but I would check those first.

Gatorbacks through Summit racing but never had a problem with the cheap ones. Check alignment and make sure all the pulleys turn freely.
