My two cents on the "swerving" that the 14 did as he hit the victim; the car swerved AFTER he hit Mr. Ward. That's what caused the 14 to swerve, not that Stewart was trying to get close, or sling mud or make some kind of point.
I'll bet Tony didn't even know the other car crashed. With any kind of head and neck restraint your ability to turn your head to either side is greatly restricted. These cars have no radio's and Tony is clearly in front of the Ward car when it runs off the track. No way Tony was mad, he didn't even know the kid crashed. So Tony had no point to prove.
The kid was pissed that he crashed, felt Stewart was to blame and he simply got to close to the 14 car while expressing his displeasure.
No malice, no intent. Just a tragic accident that will leave all surviving participants with a life time of guilt and remorse.
Jerry, you are getting ridiculous here... Were you in the seat? Were you even at the track? The answer to both is a resounding NO. You are bleacher racing right now and that above all else is the most annoying thing any fan can do.
You are sitting here getting supporting facts and life experiences from actual racers, yet you continue to argue the evidence placed in front of you... Do you have some sort of personal vendetta against Tony Stewart? What the hell man... Even when you are presented with visual evidence of how little vision you have out of those cars in broad daylight, you argue... It's almost as bad as me jumping on the Orlando Basher Tirade I did dude...
Here are the facts we know. Kevin Ward Jr is dead, and Tony Stewart unfortunately was the one who hit him. What if the car in front of Tony had hit him? The kid was darting aggressively in and out trying to get the attention of Tony... In a black suit... In a dark and dusty environment... With cars that you have extremely limited vision out of... He unfortunately paid the ultimate price for stupidity.
Not trying to be my normal insensitive asshole self, but I am calling a spade a spade here.
Oh and one other thing dude... You keep arguing something about things happen in the heat of the moment or when you are angry... Uhhhhh What the hell was he angry at? If you watch the video he didn't even touch Kevin. He washed him up the track which you will see at 99 out of 100 tracks you go to. Dirt, Asphalt or whatever. It's a passing tactic that everyone uses at some point. Tony had nothing to be mad about. I bet he didn't even know the kid was out of the car waiting for him. The question is, why was Kevin mad? He wrecked himself... He could have lifted out of it and gone back for the pass again. Instead he kept his foot in it, jumped the cushion and pounded the wall.
Thanks Jimmy for helping to clear things up. Unfortunately, no matter what evidence is provided "haters gonna hate".
I alway wonder on a forum why if there is disagreement, somebody throws out the "hate" card? If some disagrees with a different opinion, they hate your guy??? So sensitive...
Funny you never see somebody say, I hate so and so...but they are accused of it. I think, at least for right now in this country, people are allowed to think their thoughts whether you agree or not.

Dirt sprint cars run wide open all the way around the track.A good "slide job" on dirt is when you slide up in front of the other car and clear without both cars loosing momentum (usually through the middle of the turn to the exit).A poor "slide job" is when you slide up in front of the other driver and that driver has to let off or take evasive action, which upsets the weight transfer of the sprint car and can cause the car to wash up the track.
In dirt sprint car racing,a poor slide job is considered dirty, disrespectful driving and is frowned upon, much like bumper tag going into a turn is considerd in asphalt racing. From reports, these 2 have had a history of being unhappy with each other.
I don't blame TS for the slide job,it happens, but this is most likely where the driver of the 13's anger came from.
Hmmmm. Looked to me like Tony was just under him (as you know, a tick different than a slide job per se), and crowded him a little.
Then Ward could see the wall coming, got out of it since he was concerned that he would be squeezed into the wall, and when he lifted his momentum carried on into the wall anyway.
Since it was all speculation on his part (IMO) and he chose to lift, and Tony did not touch him, he overreacted, with tragic results.
Watching the video's (with audio) supports all arguments that are put forth.Because of the angle they are simply inconclusive. That is why 3 different people can come up with 3 different opinions. That is why those investigating are asking fans for more video, pics, etc.
The troubling part for me aside from the obvious is the gunning of the throttle. What is troubling on top of that is if you watch the same video from 3 different sources, the gunning of the motor takes place at different times and placement of the car on the track.
