This information from the grandchildren of New England modified great, Gene Bergin.

"Thank you so much for everyone's care, concern and prayers. We wanted to provide our Grandfather's friends and fan with an update on his status. He has taken an unfortunate turn for the worse and has been moved to the ICU at Florida Hospital in Ormond Beach. He is receiving excellent care and is slowly improving. Please continue to send your positive thoughts and prayers as he has a long, tough road to recovery ahead of him. Thank you again."

thank you so much for this information...we were so fortunate to have Gene join us at the Mod reunion last yr. he was very happy to see his old friends and make new ones. Gene was one of the best racers ever in his time. i felt he really missed those times and the reunion gave him some wonderful memories. please keep us informed and i will get a card out today. im happy his family are by his side.

This was taken at the Mod reunion... Gene has had a tough time living without his late wife and this day did bring him some happiness. Glad we could be part of it. hopefully he will be back with us at the next reunion! right Jerry? ;-)
