I had an interesting talk last night with Jim, the guy from New Hampshire that put up the money for a sportsman race at OSW. He and his friends store their cars locally, and plan on flying down several times this year to race.
Jim coughed up $1000 to evenly distribute to all the starters in the race. I gave him a suggestion that he seemed to like, and hopefully will put in play soon.
It started out in the final practice: I took my mini stock out there and had the chance to run with my buds from other classes like Edm and Mike Soukup in their Sportsmans, and David Gould in his Super Stock. It was a blast, and the cars were equal enough to put on a good race. I suggested to Jim that the next race he puts together be open to cars that run similar speeds like trucks, minis, Sportsmen and Super Stock. It would be a cool to try and I bet the fans would get a kick out of it too.
