The Triple AAA baseball stadium, Cooper Stadium which the minor-league team Columbus Clippers have played since 1932, is now vacant as of Sept. of 2008, and the team has moved to the new modern facility across town, Huntington Stadium.
A group has stepped forward that wants to save the old place from the wrecking ball, and build a Raceway upon the old grounds, and still utilize all the old grandstands.
Zoning is still an issue, and complaints are already being voiced, but they still are going ahead with their plans of a new raceway, and saving this old gem of a stadium.
We'll see how this plays out.
