Jimmy I have a '85 Seafest I am looking at. I may try to put it up tonight. I have better luck with them when I begin the upload just before I go to bed and there isn't a whole lot of traffic on line. I switched from u-tube to motion box and it seems better. I am going to, very soon, get all my archives in my studio and have them organized so I can go to a particular.
When I am gone I want to find a place to put them where every body can enjoy them. I stil have a late model feature from the 3/29/86 date to put up.
Its probably 7 or 8 minutes long. I am enjoying hearing Roby Helm agin. He was one of the best announcers I have ever worked with. In '86 I had no way to seperate the natural sound from the announcer so somtimes its hard to hear Roby. How do you like that "86 Monte pace car. I wish I had that thing now. Bob....Comment

Jimmy, I just found the 1985 Governers cup at Sunshine. It doesn't have the announcer on it. Do you remember that old wooden tower in turn 1? Thats where I taped it from and there were no speakers near to me. THat was before wireless mics. It was dark at Sunshine. I had forgotten how dark. I may be able to lighten it up when I digitize it. Bob, the '85 race at St. Pete would be good ;-) I believe we were running our silver Roman numeral III there with Bryan Wescott driving. Don't think we did too good that night...I think it was still the Gulf Coast Classic 100, as there was a 50-lapper that was run at DeSoto (Bradenton) on Friday night, St. Pete on Saturday night, and then back to DeSoto for the Coca-Cola 200 on Sunday. I think Butch Miller won Friday, Trickle won at St. Pete, then Miller won again at DeSoto on Sunday afternoon. They had the "new" V-6 cars that just KILLED everyone down here except for maybe Jimmy Cope, who I believe was running Donnie Stanford's #69 with a V-6. The rules gave them a HUGE weight break for the V-6.
The Governor's Cup race was last run at Tampa in '83. I don't think the Governor's Cup was contested from '84 to '87, then it was picked up again by New Smyrna in '88 when Dickie won it.
But yeah, I'd LOVE to see that '85 race at Sunshine!Comment

Yes Jimmy, I have the '85 seafest and the Gov cup in St Pete. Thats what they called the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown. I just have to get the time to dump them in my computer. It has been busy steady for the better part of a week. Thank God for a little work. I will get them as soon as I can. Thanks for the interest. Bob...Comment

I'll look for some 2000 video. I need to get them in my studio and get them organized. If anyone has some time and wants to help thst wud be gud. I did. start mastering on dvd till 2004 so every thing else is on tape. I am really surprised to see how good of shape these old tapes are. Cpourse they have been kept in their cases but stored in high humidity areas. Bob...Comment
