  • Outlaw Sporstman Bodies--

Did anyone go and see what happened, or what kind of body styles were there for the big 50 lapper event.
Open rules, sort-of, what showed up, body-style wise? I couldn't make it.

    the batmobile won
lets all take a long ride on a short bus.

I quit fishing because no one was standing at the docks handing out money when i got back, why did you quit racing?

According to the NSS web page there weren't many cars there. Maybe 6-7? A couple of the regulars didn't show up.

I think Michael was referring to the fact that some type of Outlaw-bodied car may have won (? - don't know, wasn't there), and making a reference to when Gary Balough killed the field at Syracuse in 1980 with his "Batmobile" Lincoln-bodied thing.

            Hey Rodger,
There were a few good cars, then there was mine. Heres a pic for you. I don't have any new ones of Phils.

                      yep.

you'll notice Ed's sideboard isn't as big as the one on the car that won Saturday night.

i bet we get a trend going.

Thank you, I love the fact that we can get creative and make the cars look a little different from the rest. These bodies with the exception of the side boards are pretty much legal everywhere. There might be a couple of variances but I am sure it is close enough. Best part of it is I hung the body in my garage using a fence post in two days and it cost right about $800 including the lexan.

                            Creative, Indeed--

I think this could be a trend for the better-- but then again, I also had high hopes for that Modified Extreme Series, too. And I went to almost all of their races. But, if this trial continues to to climb, car-count wise, I'll be the #1 fan for sure.

It sure is neat-looking, isn't it?

I can remember about 25 years or so ago, over at St. Pete, Inverness, Tampa, DeSoto, Palm Beach, and Hialeah, those types of bodies were getting popular on the (Super) Late Models. New Smyrna and Orlando wouldn't allow them, because they were running "stock-appearing" type bodies. We were running the west coast at the time (St. Pete, Inverness, and Tampa), and I think it cost us all of about $200 to build a body.

                              Wish them days'd come back
