I have been sitting here racking my brain trying to figure out why people do some of the dumb things they do. Why do they pick on other people who are being very serious with their question and make it a pissing match instead of what is was in the beginning - a question.
No wonder Florida tracks are in trouble with so much negative this and negative that. If you honestly looked at any message board for the true facts of any track, well, you would not want to go to any of them. Negative this, negative that nothing Good. Even when someone posts a pre-entry list of drivers, someone tears that up in one way or another which is just plain stupid and silly.
No wonder I have backed away from racing for awhile. There is nothing good being said about much of it at all. You want cars to come back and new fans in the stands, better find something positive to post so they will come. Rick Day and his $5.00 admission for Columbia has been one good post and actually if you will look at his car counts, they are getting better. Rex Guy must do some things right because look at his car counts or Citrus's car counts, and they got cars.
East Bay, Volusia and Ocala all have cars and good fan counts and North Florida is growing by leaps if you will look at their site. All they need is someone to help write their races for them and to showcase their great drivers. Even Southern Raceway in the panhandle has great car counts and by what I have been told by Bob Smith, pretty good fan counts also. But you never see much on the message boards about Southern Raceway or North Florida.
Honestly, if I was someone from out-of-state and was here for whatever reason and looked at the racing message boards available here in Florida, I probably would say forget it and not bother going to a race. Why should I, no one has much of anything good to say about anything.
I wish Kevin and Michael good luck at their new track, Punta Gorda Speedway. We have lost enough tracks already with Putnam sitting idle and Bronson. Northwest Florida Speedway will start up soon and we will have 7 dirt tracks going in the state and 8 asphalt tracks. But again, who really puts on a message board COME TO MY TRACK, YOU WON'T REGRET IT, GIVE US A TRY AND HAVE SOME FUN ONE NIGHT. I'll even buy you a beer if you come!!!!!!!!!!!!
