Read this over on the East Bay forum about the Late Model feature:
"On the restart Bryan Bernhardt was able to gain position on Schmauss as he made the pass on the outside lane in turn 4. Berhhardt appeared to have his first feature win of the season but was declared to be too heavy in post race technical inspection. Schmauss was credited with the win."
What's wrong with being too heavy...? If you can win with a heavy car, especially in the late model division, on dirt, more power to you, your crew for getting it goin' on, and your chassis.
I can see being DQ'ed for being too light (with a minimum weight rule), but DQ'ed for being *too heavy*...? Don't sound right to me. I looked at East Bay's rules, and don't see a THING about a "maximum weight":
>>A. All cars MUST weigh a minimum of twenty-three hundred fifty (2350) pounds
GM Crate Motor 602 may weigh a minimum twenty-two hundred (2200) pounds.
GM Crate Motor 604 may weigh a minimum twenty-two hundred fifty (2250) lbs.
GM Crate Motor CT525 may weigh a minimum twenty-three hundred fifty (2350)
pounds.
East Bay Open Style motors must weigh a minimum twenty-three hundred fifty
(2350) pounds.
