In the history of short track racing, what's the fastest time of any racing vehicle built for oval track racing, on any track, anywhere?

How about the fastest time and speed on ANY oval track, no matter what size/demention.
I'm just interested in the speed mainly.
As far as a super speedway goes, I heard a few years back, six or seven maybe, that Rusty Wallace ran one of his cars at Talladega without the restrictor plate and ran an average of 228 plus for about fifty laps. With that kind of average speed, he must have hit 235 and better in the straight-a-ways.

In the 80's, there was a friendly challenge, Who's The Fastest, between a Winston Cup car and a GTP car. Tim Richmond won the challenge by topping 240+ MPH at that big test oval in Texas, I think it's something like 7 miles around.André Fortin

the old holly wood speed way on pembrook road holly wood fla driver ROD PERRY sponsered by pan american air lines on a true 1/4 mile not a small one
in a super modified some were in low 11;s almost in 10's remember now that was over 45 years ago there is no telling how many races he won at that track and that was not the rear engine car he drove later # 119 blue juell

here is some history for you in march 11-1929
a man by the name of henry segrave set the world speed record at 231.44
mph
and the guy that had it the year before him tried to beat it the next year and got killed
it's a good thing they didn't have crotch rockets back then can you imagine having a 1300 hyabusa on nitrous with 10 inch slick back in 1929

ive seen super late models run around Tazewell Speedway (1/3 mile) in TN in the low 10s all day long when the track is right. Also a month ago at Volunteer Speedway (4/10 mile) in TN as well, Kasey Kahne in one of his sprint cars set a new track record at like a 10.20 something averaging 140 mph. Now thats getting it....
If anyone remembers when Bristol was covered in dirt the sprints got around that place i believe in the high 10s and low 11s....

Porsche 962 that went about 226 mph. The Porsche exhibited too much
downforce. Richmond's crew chief at the time, Harry Hyde reportedly put
a few extra cubes in Richmond's mill, along with a few other tricks.
As always he came to do battle.
The conclusion was that "the stock car may be a brick, but that it is a

Up at Slinger, WI, a HIGH-banked (30+ - degree) 1/4 mile (think Bristol, but half the length), they regularly turn sub-12 second laps with what we know as a Super Late Model. With them "Unlimited" wedge-type, Lexan-spoiler-loaded "Late Model" cars they run up in Michigan, they get around Kalamazoo (1/2 mile) in about 13 seconds, and around Berlin (big 1/3 mile) in about 11 seconds.
The SuperModifieds came down from New England and ran at Volusia's paved half-mile and got around in about 12 seconds, but the winged Sprints (World of Outlaws) back in the mid-1990's ran there and got around it in about the same amount of time.
Search You-Tube for some awesome wedge pavement Late Model stuff. I saw some stuff on there not too long ago in Indiana I believe it was, 1/3 mile, in about 10 seconds.
Oh, and about Rusty at Talladega. True story. They ran that car without the plate, first year I believe it was with the Dodge (I'm *pretty sure* that was the year), and hit 225-230 at the end of the backstretch. NA$CAR found out about the "test" and told 'em they better put the plate back on it...
