I checked the Sunoco website and only 12 cars qualified. Terrible. I was thinking about making the trip down from Jacksonville but between the $20 ticket and only 12 cars, thankfully I didn't. This is obviously not a New Smyrna problem because it is a national series, but only 12 cars?

(This is my opinion as a FAN!... Wouldn't want tunaman to think that the track is officially promoting/recapping the event!)
It ended up being a pretty good race from 3rd on back... Chase Elliott put on a great show all by himself racing up from the back after an early pit stop... made it up to 2nd before having fuel issues with about 10 to go... He was the only car that was turning equal times to the leader during the second half... If he had a shot at Bass I think it would have been one hell of a race to the finish... He drove an interesting line and was the only one I saw take the high-side passing a couple cars in the second groove (he had a pretty good spotter on the radio too... his Dad)... Keep your eyes on this kid... He was as smooth as a 30 year veteran around that track and very patient (looked equally as good when we saw him run at the Rattler earlier this month)
Highlight of my day was getting to meet and get a photo with my hero since I was about 3 years old... Bill Elliott... and that pretty much made my year!
All in all it wasn't a bad race... I heard mixed reviews on the new bodies... I personally liked them... They were different and just plain mean looking!Last edited by Mark Keeler; 03-28-2010, 08:11 AM.Mark Keeler

Racing Family
Yes, Sean's grandfather Ernie Bass (Amick 7) and father both raced. His mom, Debbie and her husband Todd Hutto own East bay raceway. His other grandfather is/was the flagman and his grandmother a scorer.
Nothing but racing in that bloodline.
Hope he continues to travel up the ladder.
Being a huge Bill Elliott fan eagerly awaiting Chase's arrival on the Cup circuit ,
I hope Sean can get the push to reach that level too.
