Can It Be Done ???
Ok, here's the deal... Over the past few year's the Governor's Cup Souvenir Program that I've put together has become kind of 'blah' to me... Not that I don't care and love it... It just needs some work and some fresh content...
I really want to preserve the history of this race in one Program that people can browse through and feel like even if they are new to the sport, they understand the significance of it.
In the first two years, I managed to assemble a head-shot of every driver that had ever won the race (thanks in large part to people like Marty Little, Dave Westerman, Jim Jones and other's)...
A couple year's ago I worked all Summer going to different races taking photos and managed to put together a poster with all the cars that were Pre-Entered for the race...
Here is my thought for this year... I want to find a Victory Lane Photo from EVERY YEAR the Cup was awarded...
This will not be easy and I do not expect to get every Photo the first time around but this is a starting point. I know there are a lot of old Programs, Photos, etc out there so I am asking everyone's help with this...
If you can email or 'snail-mail' me copies of any photos that you may have, it would be greatly appreciated... anything 'snail-mailed' WILL be returned promptly once it is scanned and I will pick up the shipping cost...
Please try to include as much information about the Photo(s) as possible including your name for supplying it and the photographers name (if known) so that I may credit everyone who helps out with this...
** ANYONE THAT PROVIDES CONTENT THAT IS USED IN THE PROGRAM WILL GET A FREE COPY OF THE PROGRAM **
As you may or may not know, a ton of work has been going on behind the scenes to bring the Governor's Cup back to the glory and prestige that it deserves... Last year we made some big steps with even more in the works for this year. We are already in the planning stages for this great event and I am trying really hard to make a Souvenir Program that does this event justice, especially on the history side!
