My question is how do you get DQ'd in a race in a series that you run? Isn't that kind of like Vince McMahon being "DQ'd" during a wrestling match?

Listen to this. See you next year Wayne? Lol.

What I think is ridiculous is that Anderson gets to keep his points for that race even though it says in the rule book "Any competitor(s), owner(s), or crew member(s) who participate in a fight in the pits, on the track, or on the track premises will result in a suspension, disqualification with the loss of all points, money and trophy for that race date or all points accumulated for the points season."

Instead of being in 6th place in points 54 points out of the lead, he is 2nd only 5 points out of the lead cause he was allowed to keep the points he made in the auburndale race even though he was DQd.... oh well. I guess when its your series you can do whatever you want.

Hadn't heard THAT audio before, sounds like the rule is pretty clear on that one. For the integrity of the series, the appropriate thing to do is suspend himself for the season. We'll see what happens...

          Wow!

What a bunch of B.S! Everyone that attends the next race should make signs that say ZERO TOLERANCE.

Regarding Rick Williamson's request, here is the letter sent out by Alan Bruns:

            March 24, 2010

            Members,

First let me thank you for your support shown during our initial three races of the FAST series. While we have experienced several minor problems, with your help I believe we have established an innovative, positive and fun series of which we can all be proud. All that being said, we feel we must offer an explanation of last weekends events.

We would like to thank Rex and all his staff at Auburndale Speedway for their support and hospitality. The Friday practice and Friday night “party” went well. Our revised schedule for Saturday worked as well and will be adjusted slightly for our next event.

As we know the race started off with a bang and shots continued throughout, which is why I feel this explanation is needed. It is our goal to provide a fun, safe, yet competitive place to race. Rough driving and personal vendettas should be left for other venues. While rubbing is racing, blatant rough driving or intentional wrecking cannot be tolerated. While there were several individual incidents, we all know the main one of which I will address.

We do not condone the actions of either driver involved in the incident and your race director ordered both cars “parked” for the night, immediately, even as they were still on the track. Unfortunately the track Promoter stepped in and instructed the Race Director that the 21car would be allowed back onto the track to finish the race. FAST Officials quit scoring both competitors as far as points were concerned. We’ve had our Tuesday meeting with our officials as well as those from the track. Both drivers have been placed on probation. In the future all decisions during a tour race will be made and decided by FAST Tour Officials. Track Officials can and will be asked for their advice, however, the final decision is made by the Tour officials. We acknowledge that mistakes were made. We’ve learned from our mistakes and have taken steps to ensure situations like this don’t happen again. Our collective desires are to continuously improve.

Again, I would like to thank Rex and his staff for their cooperation and we look forward to returning four June 19th event.

Please feel free to contact any of us with questions or concerns. We value your input, after all this is about you the racers, Florida racing and our partner tracks.

            Thank you,

            Alan Bruns

From the details I've heard...no one physically hit anyone in a "fighting manner". I heard there was yelling and screaming...and intent...but no one ever threw a bunch. That being said...how can you suspend someone for fighting if there was never a fight. Yelling and screaming...OK...but if you suspended everyone who got mad, yelled and screamed at another driver...well...you wouldn't have any racers left to race.

Per http:// www.answers.com/topic/ fight, a fight is "Toattempt to harm or gain power over an adversary by blows or with weapons." Wayne tried to use his car as a vehicular weapon, as he tried to run over Ingram, and the only thing that kept him from trying to mash Ingram's face in was the track crew getting there to hold him back. I would say that meets the definition of a "fight"...

                    are you smoking crack?

Wayne drove back to turn 1 but turned away from Ingram. and it's not exactly like Ingram was backing down or running away. if Anderson had wanted to run Ingram down he'd have been turning right instead of left.

this is why you should use a real dictionary. the definition you provided is for "Assault".

                      Wow, nice post.
What I saw was Wayne fire up his car and drive through the infield right at Ingram. I dont think he really had control of which way he turned, being that his tires were all folded up underneath his car..

Per my source, my definition is for the verb "Fight," not assault.
And the definition from your source is hardly any different than the definition I posted.
"to strive to overcome a person by blows or weapons" compared to
"To attempt to harm or gain power over an adversary by blows or with weapons."

Anyways, I'm done arguing about this issue. Hopefully the next FAST series race will run a little more smoothly.
