            Hey Mark

I'd really like to talk to somebody "knowing it wont make a difference". It might have been on their already but the Claimer rule was $2,000, now I see is was lowered to $1,500 why is this? "it's to keep it cheap blah blah" whoever has made this a claimer class it's not a good idea. I think whoever has written this into the rule book, has never built a car from scratch. Most junk yards will not sell a car to you to race in fear it will be put back on the street, unless you know somebody. Just a rolling car, and buying a cage kit and installing a cage your almost hitting a grand? It;s really sucks because the track believes if your fast every week you must illegal, even though I myself have never had problems passing tech. It sucks to know as soon as we go back racing and if or when I bring a car, someone could take it for 1,500 buck. I can honestly say I WONT sell. I was offered 3,500 for my car already, I would be stupid to sell.

So what could I do myself....maybe Build a "Claimer Car" oh that would only cost me more money. Wonder if I could find an early 70's big block Impala?

be worth more to take that enduro racing.

there's a lot of things in these class rules that suck. most of them ( safety and competitiveness issues, primarily ) have sucked for over 4 years now. as requested, i've sent in a suggestion for an entire re-write of the rules two years in a row now and both times it's been trash canned. it's not enough that they won't have anything to do with my suggestions or address the problems i point out, we get retarded crap like "brake lights" and claimer rules. claimer rules? for a no prize money class? well, i guess that's one way to get rid of fast cars.....

how about encouraging people to work on their cars, learn how to make them go and have some pride in them?

unless somebody at OSW wants to talk directly to me about i'm pretty much done with this. i might snipe something really dumb that pops up but going through the whole thing just isn't worth the hassle.

and as far as i'm concerned, if i bring my car over there they can keep whatever trophy they want to award me. i don't need it. which is convenient as i'm not going to try to run by their rule book.

So with this claimer rule, anyone can walk up and tell an official I have $1500 and I want the car that won? If they raced in that class, do they have to offer up their car if they want to claim another car plus the $1500?

As the rule stats anyone can buy anyone of the cars that night, less safety equipment.

I have to agree with you on what sounds like the end of that class. The rule doesn't make sense at all. My husband thought maybe it meant that you had to swap cars but told him no that you didn't have to. Of course I am still having a time understanding that you can have crate motors in Super Stock.

Yup according to the rule.. ANYONE be it in the pits, in another class, or in the grandstand can say I want to buy that car... Now let's see, oh yes rules that don't make any sense... And the 602 rule, great we can see that they are trying to lower the cost of racing by introducing a crate motor into Super Stock, but what about the rest who have built their motors.. Or worse yet, the folks that can't afford to purchase that crate motor, but can afford to put their own motor together for parts cost, what are they supposed to do...

Now I understand that in the next couple years we will probably see the Super stocks going to crate motors all together, but we all know that our current super stocks will not be able to keep up to the 602 with a properly set up car..

have a great day all Work calls...

Hey Moving Dirt.. It doesn't matter if you protest the 602... Number one, it is now part of the rule book even if it doesn't fit the rules for the Super Stock Class Engine... Number two, because it is allowed you can't protest it... And Number Three it also states in the book that Fascar has the right to change any rule at anytime...

I don't like the idea, but I foresee them trying to make this a mandatory engine in this class in the future... This will be done with the "idea" of reducing the costs of racing... The problem with that is not everybody in Super Stock spends a fortune to have an engine built, so how many people are we going to give the "boot" too when this happens...

                              have a great day all...
