  • The Karnac Fundraiser for the Jack Smith family!

Once again Tony Carreno and Critter have made it happen! There will be a fundraiser for Jack Smith and his wife to help them get thru a very scary time. On top of all this, Jack and Kathy have a special needs son that needs alot of care so this will help them in more ways then you can imagine. Neither of them are able to work at this time and the racing family have pulled thru for them with flying colors! In fact it is pretty amazing!
On April 17th. there will be a fundraiser at CITRUS COUNTY SPEEDWAY!
Joining the Checkered Flag Sprint car Series will be the awesome Open Wheel Mods. The OWM will race 50 laps with a $50 entry fee. The pay to win will be $1,000.00! We will be asking for sponsors of the 50 laps at $100.00 per lap.
So far Tony Carreno has lap #1 and I have lap #14! Please join us as all the lap money will go to the JACK SMITH family.
There will be practice on Friday April 16th.
Please make checks out to Jack or Kathy Smith for the laps and make sure you let me know which lap you choose....

To avoid any problems this time ONLY AMERICAN RACER tires will be allowed. You can practice on anything you want, but can only race on American Racers.

Send the checks to: Jack & Kathy Smith
    C/O Carol Wicks
    732 Haleybury Street
    Port Charlotte, Fl. 33948
Any questions feel free to call me at 941-629-7451.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Tony & Critter... we are blessed to have you as part of our racing family!

Excellent! Will there be any support divisions? I'd love to bring a car or two if they run mini stocks or the 4 cylinder bombers.

What about Grandstand prices... times... support classes... etc. Keep us filled in as this all comes together.

If at all possible, I will be there to help in any way I'm needed.

Just a thought here.... how about a 4-Cyl. & and an 8-Cyl "Run-Whatcha-Brung" event. Strictly for fun, yet another way to participate, without anyone worrying about rules, purse etc.

Not a "race" per se, but an organized exhibition (for lack of a better word). Cars with higher technology start in front, slower cars in back, and everyone only running the speed they are comfortable with. This is somewhat the format at the DAARA shows, and those guys all have a blast every time they get an opportunity to crank 'em up a bit. No purse, no real tech rules, no tire rules... just bring what you got, and have some fun!

I can think of at least a handful of people on here that might turn out, just to turn a few laps, and participate in a good cause.

Plus... a few guys might figure out how fun Citrus IS, and will want to return for another show that DOES count!

I'm sure there's a down-side to this thought, but I haven't thought of it yet!

If I can find someone to shoot CCMP for me I'll shoot the fund raiser. $19.99
and when my fuel is paid for all proceeds go to Jack and Kathy. I wish I could donate my fuel but hard times are at my house too. If someone wants to sponser my fuel ALL proceeds will go Jack and Kathy. Bob..

                        Kathy just called!

Jack is out of surgery and the Doctor is very pleased. They had placed a bracket in his spine and it slipped. They repaired all of that and cemented it so it will never move again. The tumor has been COMPLETELY removed so lets pray it is benign! They dont know yet.
Jack will be in ICU tonight and moved to a room tomorrow. He may possibly be able to go home this weekend!!!! The rehab will be very very painful and take quite awhile but the worse part is over...
Jacks daughter Alisa who he just "found" about 5 yrs. ago asked me to post a message for her. She was crying her eyes out and said she cannot tell all of you how much your love, generosity and kindness to her Dad means to her. She said Thank you from the bottom of her heart!
I will keep you informed. God bless all of you for your love and support.

                        p.s.

Alisa said "Jack had some loose screws" and they tightened them all... Now we all knew that for years and she thinks shes telling us something? roflllllllllll

Glad to hear the good news and know that some of my prayers have been answered. Learning to be patient and waiting on the rest of them. I know, all in His own time.

This is great news now all we have to do is continue to ray that the tumor was not cancer and that jack recovers quickly.
