        ok old timers

Didn't know anyone else had a copy of that program..I got mine when my Dad's Mom passed. My brother Earl said," I could never have married anyone more like my Dad than Richard". Noted that 46 yrs. and a day later that we had a celebration for Richard at DeSoto similar to my Dad's. Remember that day, as I drew the ticket in a raffle for one of their race cars. Pee Wee Phelps and L.M. Zigler were the drivers.
The car #9 in the SarMana pits could be Richards and the #229 at Sunshine with Jim Kelly driving is Richards car.
Good pic of Betty Lou and Jim...thank goodness we have our memories!! Appreciate you guys sharing them. Nancy

Hey Nancey, Jim and I are going to try to come and see you next week and borrow some of your pics to put on here. You are right our memories are precious. Jim had a copy of that old program memorializing Mac. Some of those old pictures certainly bring back some fond memories. Bob..

That pic of Trickie Dickie...can't be 1971, and it certainly at the 'Gate. Looks like maybe '76-'78, maybe even '80-'81 , and looks to be probably New Smyrna.

That body style is a mid-'70s Camaro, and those spoilers started coming into play around the late '70s - early '80s.

That #7 Pinto looks like a Super Six, and it's at Golden Gate.

I may be worng but that picture of Dick Anderson in the red Camaro doesn't look like the front straight grandstands gate to me.

Also the Camaro has a big back window so it's got to be no earlier then 1975. I believe that's when they came out with that sizes rear window. I may be worng about both??????

You're correct, Ricky; actually, that body style (with the big back glass) was '74. '73 was the last year for the flat rear window.

And I don't ever remember the grandstands at the 'Gate being white; that's why I suggested maybe New Smyrna. I believe around those years, Orlando's was red <?>.

Then again, there's not even any slight banking to the straightaway in that pic, so it may NOT be New Smyrna. Inverness, maybe?

You guys have got me. The picture says 1971 but Jim and I were thinking at least '74. It also says the Gate but I am not sure of that. I don't know that I was at new Symrna that far back to know or remember what the front straight looked like. Its a good pic of Dicky anyway. Bob...

They didn't make camaro bodies with the back window like that until 1975 so it can't be before then. Looks like a Howe nose on it as well. So my guess is 1977 when those noses with bumpers appeared on the scene.

That #90 with the hood folded back is Maynard Troyer, who went on to become one of the biggest names in Northeast Modified racing history. He's been my hero since I was 6 years old... and this shot was taken before I was even born!
