February 20th Racing Action - Where to Go

There are a number of tracks you can pick from this Saturday night for your racing fix. If I have missed one, please let me know. Southern Raceway is a dirt track in the Northern end of Florida.

Citrus County Speedway - FAST Series, Street Stock, Pure Stock, 4 Cylinders, Trucks

Hendry County Motorsports Park is scheduled for 360 winged sprints on Saturday. This was to be an ASCS show, but that got dropped and it's now an open sanction race.

P.S.---Southern Speedway is in Milton which is about 30 miles east of Pensacola so it is actually in NW Florida.
By the way, if you've never been there, this place is a cool little track. If you sit in the grandstands and look beyond the race track you feel like your on a mountain.

Since Desoto and Auburndale have their upcoming events this weekend, I think the post is fine about what all is racing. And thanks for telling me about Southern Raceway. I cover them and Northwest Florida Speedway on my dirt website and I have promised to come and see them sometime this year. My friend Bob Smith is the webmaster on both sites and he is really good at sending me updates, results, stories, pictures on both tracks. www.floridadirttracknews.com covers all 8 dirt tracks in Florida, at least, we do try.

PS - the post for upcoming events isn't any media at all. It is from Jane's Corner and I just put it here in hopes of helping everyone on this weekend's event. Remember, I am one of the Editors at karnac and not considered media at all. I am only media for Volusia Speedway Park and we aren't racing until next weekend when they have bikes.

This post was from an instigator and should definitely be posted here. I believe this post was appropriate but then again I thought the race reports were also. However, I'm not an owner or editor. At least it isn't blatant advertising, as are the next 2 threads.

I see nothing wrong with some promoting on the message boards, whether it be from "media", a track owner, or just fans telling about an upcoming event. The only thing I have a problem with is a situation where one track can do it and others are not allowed, and it looks to me like Jane's post includes everyone.

BTW...the 2009 Championship Awards Banquet is at Ocala Speedway on Friday at 7PM, and there is an open practice at Ocala (all divisions) at 2PM this Saturday, and also on the 27th as well. Admission is $15 with kids 12 and under free, and the pit gate opens at noon.

I deleted my own post as my opinions dont really matter. I do think Jane does a pretty good job but she has a boss and has to do what she is asked to do so she doesnt deserve to be chastized. as for Andy... now thats a damned shame. Andy is such an intelligent, caring, funny, wonderful man who took racing seriously and DONATED his time and effort to bringing us his version of events and happenings! he NEVER EVER insulted anyone or talked down to anyone. He is an amazing man. andy traveled all over the place to cover special events and he did it all at his expense. it really sucks that ALL writers are not welcome. there are plenty of races to cover... if we keep running off all the people who REALLY care then all we will have left is a bullshiz board. Remember the real stories are on the home page. not on this message board.
WHERE THE HELL IS ANDY.... why was he run off? if i couldnt make a race all i had to do was read his story and i felt like i was there.I just dont get it...

Thanks guys for helping me on this weekend. Ocala, I hope you have a fantastic banquet and practice day. And East Bay is still included in the what's happening for January, February, and March in a thread above. I do appreciate everyone's help when I do miss something.

Can't wait for the new season to begin at all tracks. Coming soon for sure and has started for others. Going to be a FANTASTIC year for everyone, I feel it in my bones (even though they may crack every now and then).

No matter what you do this weekend, have a great weekend. Heard it is going to be warmer this weekend, perfect weather for alittle fishing I hope.

DAARA hosts Vintage racing in Zephyrhills - 36th Annual Winter AutoFest - Friday and Saturday at Festival Park... Looks like a big group of cars is there and great weather to boot. Exhibition racing from 10AM to 4PM with a lunch break and meet n' greet at noon each day... Grandstand admission is free... For more info go to www.daararacing.com.

I have always wanted to go to that Dave, maybe this year I can. Thanks for posting it. Hope you have a good season opener at Auburndale also. Not sure what I will do this weekend, may just go fishing. I had thought about going to Citrus for the first FAST Series race but decided after driving the last two weeks almost 200 miles a day, no long distance driving this weekend for me. Plus it is suppose to be warmer and I hope to take dad outside at rehab for awhile this weekend. Just let him enjoy the sun.
