After a 20 minute practice session for each group, a mandatory driver's meeting was called and the drivers were asked what they wanted to do since it was 10 and the fog was rolling in. The drivers voted not to race and racing was cancelled.
Man, I remember one night back in the early '80s at New Smyrna when that fog rolled in off the ocean. You couldn't see the fronstretch from the grandstands, so I imagine the drivers couldn't see, either. I think it was like 29 degrees that night, too...LOL
