  • 1st LeMons race

We had a blast in S.C this weekend although my ASS HOLE 5th team member and *#@*&% brother in law ROASTED the engine. He was WAY overdriving the car and not checking the temp. guage once in awhile, even though he new we had a small radiator leak. We each would drive 45 minutes and come in to top off the water but he didn't think the car was getting very hot! The car was really fast and probably would have finished in the top 10 if not top 5!
We took two motorhomes so fuel expense was HIGH. Including original car cost($550), we each spent a little over $900. We were hoping our costs would go down for the next race(wouldn't need calipers, shocks, struts, etc.) but now I guess we'll spend at least that much on getting the car running again!
Also, Danny O'quinn was on a team with a bunch of other boys that worked for Laughlin Chassis in Mooresville. They were parked next to us and were crazy as Hell. Got so many black flags the first day, the promoters "parked" them until the next day.
If anyone decides to do this, keep your team member number at four. More driving time!

That looks like a lot of fun without a lot of expense. The more creative, the better.
