Wow. If the ARCA race is any indication of how coverage is going to be every time Danica is in the field, I think I'll pass. Regardless of whether she was 5th, 12th, 23rd or wherever, all Darrell Waltrip could talk about was how Danica was doing, what she should be doing, what she was thinking. And it's not like Darrell keeps quiet very often. I actually felt sorry for the other teams, especially Bobby Gerhart. He dominated the race and won, but it was almost an afterthought. The other two commentators were OK, but Darrell was so over the top with "Danica Love" that I wanted to reach through the TV and rip the microphone out of his hand. Enough already!!!! She drove OK, finished the race with her car intact and got some experience at Daytona in a stock car. Pretty much what you would expect for a professional driver coming from a different series to accomplish in a first race.

I gotta agree with you on the Danica focus. Certainly I expected there to be increased interest in her, but not to the point where they were all but ignoring the rest of the field at times. I found myself wondering if old Darrell doesn't have a secret crush on her or something.
That said, I have to give Danica props for how she handled it. She asked every little question that she could come up with and never assumed anything. Many drivers in her position would have been too proud to ask, but she humbled herself and did the right thing, not to mention making a pretty good showing in the race as well.Last edited by BJ Cavin; 02-06-2010, 10:59 PM.

I hope she does well in NASCAR. I thought she drove a great race, but I am wondering what she's going to be like on tracks that she's already raced on.
She's used to having a different feel on those tracks with Indy cars then stock cars. It may take her some time, or hardly any time at all getting the right feel for the stock cars compare to the open wheels.
That’s my question, and like I said I hope she does well in NASCAR.

I met her at the 24 hour race at Daytona 4 years ago. What impressed me was that she was into racing and the fans around her. She was not into 'herself' as much as the other celeb. drivers. She joked with me for mispronouncing her name and laughed about it. When I wished her luck and shook her 'tiny' hand, it was very firm and definate.
Guess you can tell I'm a fan......you are right.

Yea
Yea, I thought there was some posters over on her side (but unlike you, I wasn't paying attention to any posters).
Tell Virginia to keep my socks and that one shoe until I see her agian...I was in a hurry going out that back window and running around the NAPA Car and all the other stuff in the yard to get to my truck parked down by the hard road.
(better off not saying anything to her... cause she's gonna get me the next time she see's me - cause she is too lady llike for this crap)Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:

I give her an A-,the minus for letting Sheltra root her out of line.May not have been a bad move as I would rather be right behind him than in front of him.Her handling the car through the grass was as good as it gets.I think it is interesting that Sheltra'Patrick and Charmichael started 11,12 and 13 and finished 5,6 and 7
