Twas the night before speedweeks and all though the shop,
the preparation was done and the work had come to a stop.
The tires were soaked and the trailer was packed,
and the toolbox was filled with all the tools it had lacked.
The crew was nestled all tight in their beds,
with sounds of spec engines dancing in their heads.
1 lap to go, they dreamt, until the victory is mine.
We won! Hopefully we'll make it through tech just fine.
When tomorrow comes there will be quite a clatter,
as the crew chief tries to find out what's the matter.
Is it the shocks, sway bar, or Right Rear spring?
Hopefully we'll get it fixed before qualifying.
"Green, green, green" the spotter screams.
This setup is going to get us to the front it seems.
"20 laps to go this time at the line"
"your all clear around you, this car is really flyin."
"Back it down, theres a wreck in turn 2"
"Go high around the wreckage and lookout for the cleanup crew."
"Get those tires cleaned and don't miss a shift,
#90 tried to wreck you but fortunately she whiffed"
"One lap to go, you'll have to move the guy in the lead,
If you wanna go down in world series of asphalt history"
"Nice move buddy, you us won the race!
But I think that dude wants to punch you in the face."
"I'd like to thank my mom, dad, sponsors, and crew,
It was a fun race, but our front bumper we must redo.
And our dream we dreamt last night is coming true."

So we can celebrate what we have accomplished today.
As the race day ends, are hearts aren't filled with sorrow,
Cause hell, we'll do it again tomorrow!
