  • DIRTcar Winternationals Start Tomorrow

This is my very first DIRTcar Winternationals at Volusia Speedway Park and I am very excited about it. Just wondering with the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing also starts this week on Friday and East Bay's Winternationals are going on, are you going to try and go to each one some or just one?? Also out of the three events, which night is the night you want to make sure and go to the most?

Example - John Blewitt Memorial, Richie Evans Memorial, Pete Orr Memorial - which one is the ONE you would not want to miss??? At Volusia and East Bay, which night is the ONE you want to go to the most??

If I had to pick one at New Smyrna, it would be the Richie Evans Memorial only because it is the Tour Type Mods in 100 laps of racing and always very exciting. I would pick that one only because we only have the tour mods here during the World Series otherwise we never see them. Of course Pete's race is also great but alot of the Super Lates are Florida boys and you do see them at other races during the year.

But tell me, what is your FAVORITE race and where will you be spending your nickel the most this year????

If I could do what I wanted, at Eastbay, I'd go to any of the Lucas Late Model races. At Volusia, any of the Late Models shows with the Big Block Modifieds. Finally, I'd go for the Richie Evan's Memorial on asphalt. I can't do most of these but do plan on catching a LM show at Eastbay and the big blocks at Volusia. Weather permitting.

If you do come to Volusia, please find me. I am suppose to be in the VIP Suite over the Volusia track office but if nothing else, go to the tower and ask Joe where I am. I really do want to meet you and thank you in person for all your help with photos. I will be there all 12 nights so PLEASE, do find me.

Looks like my Winternationals time is limited thanks to work. I had vacation time to burn, but now I understand that there will be a plant shutdown in June that I will have to cover with vacation time, so I'm just about done. It sucks, but that's life.

It does suck B.J. but at least you have a job which is more than a lot of people have right now so you are one of the lucky ones. But I hope you get to see at least one race during Winternationals.

I'm going everywhere and seeing everything: NSS, VSP, East Bay, Citrus and I am hoping to make my first trip to Hendry this weekend. Then it is off to Zephyrhills and the AMA in the Daytona area.

Regrets, I've had a few. I should not have missed the Rolex 24, but I'll make up for it in the next few weeks!

I got to go to Ocala last Friday with my daughter. My next show, if everything works out, will be Volusia on Friday night with the Big Blocks and Late Models. I really miss the UMP Modifieds but $$$ is tight.

I would love to go East Bay for any show but it's almost 2 hours away for me and as I stated above, money is tight this year.

I was going to go last night to EB, but thought it would rainout so I didn't try and go...well they raced and it was a good one. Here's the last 10 laps from last night.

I'm planning to go to EB the rest of the week rain or shine and hopefully it's all shine.
